Could Spurrier win championships at another SEC School

Spurrier has done a great job at S. Carolina considering their abysmal football history and their decades long run of losing seasons. He's made South Carolina football into a winning program, but a lot of people think that S. Carolina has reached their max and after he is gone will resume their old ways.

So, if Spurrier was at an elite SEC program, how much more successful could he be?

Now? Doubtful, simply because he is too old to start anew somewhere else. About 10 years ago? Absolutely.

Maybe this thread is more about South Carolina as a program than it is about Spurrier.

Why you wanna lie? Why did you feel the need to lie?

Who owns the longer streak of losing seasons .... Ole Miss or SCAR?

Yes. Despite his age I think he could still get it done at the right school.

SCAR is just not the right place. Too many schools in a close proximity competing for the same recruits.

South Carolina has everything it needs except history. Eventually, they'll get there.

Spurrier could win other places but he's not what he was at Florida

Exactly, we're only #2 in the country on Rivals and 247's recruiting rankings. We're way to close to Alabama.

Ok, so one recruiting class will do it huh?

Oh and keep having faith in the all knowing rankings.

eta - I never said anything about Bama.

Spurrier at LSU with our instate talent and no instate competition would be so fricking lethal.

ALMOST HAPPENED TOO.

But I agree he's too old to start somewhere new now.

This is what I was getting at. But using LSU as an example is unfair since all our success is due to Saban.

I would expect it would look similar o what he did at Florida. 1 NC and a few less sec championships because the league is so much more competitive today. Which brings in to question his back handed compliments about Saban has won national championships, but he is at Alabama, but Florida was loaded with talent. I think it is a fair comparison of Saban's tenure at Alabama with Spurrier's tenure at Florida

Its not like Florida was THAT bad when he started there, but you can't compare UF's situation to South Carolina's when he arrived.

Maybe Florida, but I dunno. He might not be a good fit there.

Spurrier has done wonders at USCe. He won the ACC at Duke. So yes. He could. But hes gonna kick it in Columbia for the next few years.
