I just jumped on the buds guns offering of a Adams Arms piston system 5.56 (for those who don't know, they are selling these rifles for 599.00. Normally runs 1300.00. These are cosmetic blemishes and a screaming deal at 599).

Anyway, i want to run with iron sights on this. Any reccomendations for a quality set of front and rear irons? I don't want to spend 300$. 150 - 200 would be perfect.

No can do. Piston system means all of the gas is ejected at the gas block. This is where the front sights will mount. The gas block will get so hot it will melt the magpul front. If this were a di system i would be all over those magpuls.

You could use the sights Adams installs on their uppers. Samsons

FWIW, I don't think you're gonna melt anything you install on your gas block.

well, I just got a screaming deal on a trijicon.

buddy is parting out his wifes .223 and is selling me her 1.5 yea old triji for 200. still going to look at the Samson. But, I am contemplating putting the Triji on my .308 then moving the troy ind. fixed sights I have on it, to the new AA 5.56.

I'll second the Troys. Midwest Industries is pretty good too.

Yeah, I am a bit lucky. I am lucky to have a buddy who overextends himself financially. When he does he sells of his toys to make ends meet. It's how i picked up the .308 upper. I was trying to get him to sell me his .50 grendel ar. No dice on that one.
