It's hard to predict what we should accomplish with our talent because there isn't really a good measurement from past teams. In 2008, we had to be the best team that can be relatable, so I looked at that team in comparison to what we will have over the next four years.

The 2008 team had starting or in it's two deep...
1st round LT MO
All-SEC- RT JJ
NFL Pro Bowler-WR MW
All-SEC-WR SH
All SEC-All purpose back DM
1st Round-DT PJ
All- SEC- DT JP
All- SEC- DE GH
NFL-CB CV
NFL-Safety KL
NFL Pro Bowler-Safety JS

5 elite players on offense, 6 on defense

In 2008 we had a total of 4 players on 1st and 2nd all sec team. The same in 2009. I believe KL and GH are pro bowlers but I did not put them down as that because they did not even make the all sec team their senior year.

In 2014 we have...
QB- potential all sec
WR- 1st round LT
TE- potential all sec EE
LT- 1st round LT
RG- all sec AM
DE- all sec CJ
DT- 1st round RN
DT- potential all sec IG
LB- all sec SB
Safety- all American CP
Safety- potential all sec TC
CB- potential nfl DJ

5 elite players on offense. 7 on defense

We have 4 players on the all freshman team, an all American, three players already picked as all sec, and two others preseason all sec. If all of those players become all sec (RN, LT, TC, EE, AM, BW, LT, SB, CJ, CP) then we would have the most all sec players on a team in the modern era.

As talent goes I see a few "if"s that could decide things.
IF Bo Wallace is all sec
IF Dereck Jones progresses into a NFL corner
IF CJ and Aaron Morris get back to old all sec form...
Then our talent is better now then in 08-09.

We all know with better coaching that the 2008 team wins a minimum of 10 regular season games. That sec west was a weaker west. Bama's 2008 team is nothing like it is now, LSU will probably be the same, state is much better, auburn is much better, Arkansas is about the same. The 2009 team also wins 10. Bama is comparable, LSU comparable, auburn better now, state better now. Arky comparable, a&m on the road feels like 2009 sc on the road. If 2008 & 2009 injuries are the same (none on OL) then 9 wins is very probable with 10 wins possible, due to similar talent in the 08-09 years with a tougher schedule. We obviously cannot account for injuries so that's why 8 wins is the more realastic prediction. What do you guys think?

Best case scenario(no major injuries) 10 wins
Worst case scenario 8 wins

I love the fact that we have what so many sec teams are lacking right now... a seasoned QB

That's entirely too optimistic.

ETA - I should clarify that saying our floor is that high is the part that's too optimistic. I actually think our ceiling is 11 wins, with a floor of 6.

Most likely scenario is 8-9 wins.

The 2014 and 2015 teams have the chances to be better and more successful than 2008/2009.

Those are big shoes to fill, but I think we're top to bottom more talented outside of the OL.

If we can have a 2012-like year regarding injuries we will compete for the West.

I see a little too optimistic on my part.

Hey I was going to tell you I have been listening to a lot of LDR and I am really digging it.

She looked hot in the ride video too.

BTW
If I get severe depression from listening to her I'm blaming you. LOL

He has, but I look at all sec being a bigger indicator in how good the college team was. For instance mike Wallace was not all sec because he didn't produced a whole lot, whereas Shay was and never made the nfl. Who had the bigger impact on our team? Greg Hardy was not a weapon in 2009 but was all sec in 2008.

Only if Dr. Bro gets hurt IMO. If Bro stays healthy we should be a lock for at least 7 wins.

Our defense will be salty this year and should keep us in most games.

Could we be special this year? Absolutely. This collection of talent is better than most of my life. However the SECw is the most brutal it has been since 2010 so what we do is a complete unknown. We are undeniably talented though.
