... along with venues.

Bold denotes consensus preseason Top Eleven, LINK, but I used these rankings to determine the pecking order basically.

East

1 - Florida ... @ Bama, LSU, @ FSU
2 - Tennessee ... @ Oklahoma, @ Ole Miss, Bama
3 - SCAR ... A&M, @ Auburn, @ Clemson
4 - UGA ... Clemson, @ Arkansas, Auburn, Ga Tech
5 - Kentucky ... @ LSU, Miss St, @ Louisville
6 - Mizzou ... UCF, Indiana (tie breaker), @ A&M, Arkansas
7 - Vandy ... Ole Miss, UMass, @ Miss St (OoC hurt them)

West

1 - Auburn ... K State, SCAR, @ UGA
2 - Arkansas ... @ Tx Tech, Georgia, @ Mizzou
3 - A&M ... @ SCAR, Rice, Mizzou (OoC opponent hurts them)
4 - LSU ... Wisc, @ Florida, Kentucky
5 - Bama ... (tie*) WVA, Florida, @ UT
5 - Ole Miss ... (tie*) Boise St, @ Vandy, UT
7 - Miss St ... So Miss, @ Kentucky, Vandy

Note: On the tie (Bama and Ole Miss) it was tough to call because UT cancels out between Bama even though Bama plays in Neyland and Ole Miss gets UT at home. Florida has to be ranked higher than Vandy in most' minds. Boise St is actually pre-season ranked, WVA is not, the WVA game is on a neutral field. It all was too close to call so it ended in a tie.

Miss St is going to be a tougher opponent for Vandy and Kentucky than I may be giving them credit for, but the Indiana game for Mizzou was the tie breaker in that one. Vandy's OoC schedule this year is terrible.

UGA edged out Kentucky by virtue of playing both Clemson and Ga Tech OoC although they get them both at home. Venues almost cost UGA one move down.

I had to include two OoC games for some teams because I could not determine which one might be the tougher game, especially when taking rivalries into account. Like UGA for instance. They should mud stomp Ga Tech but it's still a rivalry game yet clearly Clemson is the better OoC opponent.

Im guessing you didnt want to talk about this last year.

USCe - at Arkansas, vs MISS St.

You coots are entertaining. Hell, you hung your hat on the UCF game last year.

How many years in a row now does UG and USC skirt Bama?

There are a few very very weak OoC slates on the board in the SEC this year. I was sort of shocked when I looked at it.

A&M is another one.

But to answer your question, MSU's OoC schedule consists of So Miss, UAB, So Alabama and UT Martin. No SEC program should schedule that weak OoC IMHO. It is atrocious ... not cool.

Looking at recent past history the West seems to do it more often than the East FWIW. I guess (some in) the West figures their conference schedule is tougher so ... I dunno.

Edited to clarify that not all teams in the West have recently been scheduling easy OoC opponents across the board.

Yeah our West schedule wasn't great but we deserved a break after 2011.

UCF? BCS Bowl winners, UCF? At their place with #3 overall pick at QB? Yeah, that was a pretty good win. Probably our 2nd best win behind Clemson.

Wait, so you want the East to get some sort of credit for schedule strength when 6 of the 8 bolded games are against SECW opponents? You realize that SECW teams like Arky, Ole Miss, MSU, and A&M play against Bama, LSU, and AU too, right? The east has a tough schedule BECAUSE of who they play in the west.

Good thread. Although it's hard to know how good each team really is. For example, MSU and Ole Miss could both contend for the 2nd and 3rd spot in the West. Hell, Florida could possibly win the East with the talent they have.

If you read my response to your post on the other thread about UK's SoS and who they played each year in the west....

I would be calling my sports bookie and seeing where LSU sits in terms of odds today and winning the first playoff. If history holds, Tigers should at least win the west and has strong possibility of winning the MNC!

Was gonna say UGA was a lil tougher than SC cause we both play AU & CU & I thought Ark/GT trumped playing just aTm...

Then I checked & y'all play ECU too... That def. put y'all ahead of us... ECU/aTm > Ark/GT...

Speaking of skirts, you're the most consistent non-Mizzou pusstard on the board ... you do realize that, correct? You cry about the littlest imaginary shite you can think of.

SCAR just played Bama in 2009 and 2010. We've played Bama, during the regular season, more than any other team from the East other than UT since expansion and are 3-3 vs Bama this millennium. That's six times in 13 years.

Florida has played Bama four times, during the regular season, this millennium. You are 1-4 against them during the regular season so these next two are catch-up games for the Gators.

Georgia has also played Bama four times during the regular season this millennium. Georgia is 3-1 vs Bama in that time frame, (not counting the loss in Atlanta), and last played them in 2008 during the regular season.

So it would appear that Bama has always had either SCAR, UF or UGA on their regular season schedule for the past six years, sometimes two at a time.

Yeah, that was the tie-breaker for me too along with venues. Y'all get Clemson and Auburn at home and we have to go on the road for both of those.

Just saying the trend of who UK plays in the west seems an indicate such a bet even if it is a long shot at this time.

Agree completely ... Ole Miss and MSU are wild cards in all of this for everyone. They could surprise everyone this year, but I had to go with some sort of grading system so I used the consensus pre-season Top Forty in the link provided plus I took venues into account because, as we all know, road games are bitches in this league no matter where you play but especially in certain places ... LSU being the worst you want to have to play in of course.
