Tree camping that is...
Wonder how many get sprayed on these kind of trips?
Worst prom dresses ever?
How many of you thought pineapples grew on trees?
Ok. I want a baby owl now.
Picture from World War I
A British soldier rides a motorbike with a basket of pigeons on his back, on his way to delivering them to the frontline on the Western Front in 1916
A Japanese plane is shot down during the Battle of Saipan in 1944
Packed slave merchant ship, mid-1800's
Are you afraid of the Muffin Man?
Muffin Man, London, 1910
Last known photo of Mark Twain, 1910
Babe Ruth shakes hands with U.S. President Warren G. Harding during a game at the Yankees Stadium. April, 1923 (I would have the same look if I had to do the same today)
Photograph of an unknown man during the Depression, 1932
Car TV, 1965
A woman drinking tea, 1940, in the aftermath of a German bombing raid during the London Blitz
Private Ruth, 1924

I love baby owls and have seen a few close up. I still wouldn't try to pet them.

I often wonder if the 2000's century will be as interesting as the 1900s. That was a hell of an interesting century. All the innovation in technology, 2 world wars, worldwide depression, Civil Rights movement, Moon landing.
It's been kind of bland so far...yes we keep having technological advancements but it's getting kind of repetitive. I wonder what the next big invention will be, or the next major war, next economic boom, etc. I need some excitement beyond the next social media invention.

Bland so far? Good lord, you must watch only action movies.
In the last 14 years we've seen:
1. The first AA president of the US;
2. The earth has added 1.25 billion people;
3. The Great Recession;
4. Two powerful tsunamis, one of which killed 264,000 people;
5. 9/11;
6. The longest war in US history;
7. Worldwide pollution is threatening the global ecosystem;
8. Thousands of planets have been discovered around other stars;
9. New viruses are spreading around the globe;
10. The Higgs Boson has been confirmed;
11. The inflation theory of the Big Bang has been confirmed; and,
Much, much more. The 21st century promises to be a do-or-die period for humanity. Will we come together in time to prevent a collapse of our global biosphere that might trigger a mass extinction that could very well include all of us? Or will we remain a fractured species, bent on conquering each other to the peril of us all? Right now, it doesn't look good for mankind's continuance into the 22nd century.

The one with lions looks interesting. Although my dream is still to camp in Churchill, Manitoba to see wild polar bears
