May have come off as an ahole'ish neighbor today. Yes or No?

Young female neighbor at my place in town.
Divorced, 3 children, hangs out with holligans.
3rd time they've cranked the boom box up - it's rattling the windows in the house.
I drive pickup truck to back driveway - about 20 feet from hoodlum.
Pull out a HUGE chainsaw and a small work bench.
Grab a few tools - make a few adjustments.
Crank huge chain saw up and run it for about 5 minutes - pretending I'm adjusting some shyt on it.
Boom Box goes silent. I pick up my stuff and drive around to front drive.
Bad? Good?

I don't see anything wrong with this. Since they made some noise it's perfectly fine for you to show them that you can be louder.

That there was marriages for their to be divorces should have been obvious.

You know what I can't figure out? They put these huge speakers in their trunks and what are these CD's they're playing? I mean, you can't even hear the song all you hear is a constant thumping noise. Shyt was so loud my windows were literally rattling.

One of the few things in life that makes me want to get violent with other humans is when someone thinks their music preference will be liked by their neighbors. They think the louder it is, the better it will sound.
My urge-to-kill gene starts twitching violently and I have to do something. I think you handled the situation much better than I would have. You got the message across without bloodshed. Congrats.
