My father passed when I was 11 years old. I have thought about him everyday for the last 30 years. As the years pass, this day becomes more melancholy for me.

To all of you that miss your fathers on this day, here is a big E HUG.

Been without mine now for 36 years.

His funeral was like a rock concert

He was a genius at knowing how to treat people.

Damn I miss him.

Oh, thank you for this thread.

Mine was young too at 31yrs old. After him, my mother married 2 more times but neither of those guys ever felt like a father to me.

Sorry to hear that.

I haven't lost my father but reading this thread makes me realize how much I take for granted.

Preciate that auggie. Fitting since my dad loved Dylan.

Beiber, it's still fathers day. Give him a call or go see him and tell him you love him.

Yeah, my mother remarried when I was 14. He never really tried to be a father figure, and even if he had, I wouldn't have given him the chance.

Growing up without a father affects you every day for the rest of your life.

I hope it has at least taught me to not take time with my kids for granted.

Thanks for the thread. My dad has been gone almost 19 years. I miss him everyday. He was my hero and the greatest man I have ever known. I guess I'm partial though.

Edit: From reading some of the other posts, I was at least an adult when my dad died. For those of you who lost your father as kids, I can only imagine how difficult that was on you.

Kids need a father, an involved father. I wish our society respected that truth today.

They are still there, you just don't get to see their reactions. I believe that whenever situations arise and you remember them in that moment, that is when you know they are there. It's like a little tap on the mental shoulder.

My Father died almost 40 years ago, still think about him every day and I've always hated Father's Day.

I was out of town this weekend and didn't see this thread, which is awesome.

First one without mine too. It was pretty difficult.
