I did not know that, but I've always respected the heck out of Mike Gillespie, he's always been a class act. He got a raw deal at SoCal. Mike Garrett, the SoCal AD at the time, was later fired and is now the AD at Langston in Oklahoma. Karma is an amazing thing.
Did they know Gillespie was on his way at the time or did they just practice not knowing who would be their coach? Either way, it's a sign that they have good player-leadership on that team and that's probably one of the reasons they are where they are today. Seems there is always one good Cinderella story in each CWS.

Every game of y'alls I've watched that has been televised the last two years has mentioned how Rea is a "big guy" and how he was a really good football prospect that decided he wanted to play baseball instead.
