Primary Question: Is this comparison accurate or too attenuated? I ask mainly because I'm a little skeptical of all of the love Player A is getting this offseason, just as I was of Player B's offseason praise back in the day.

Player A: As a redshirt freshman, he was inserted into the starting lineup after an injury. His team was 6-0 when he entered the picture. He started 4 games, going 3-1. He beat 0 teams with a winning record. He won SEC Freshman of the Week 3 separate times.

Stats in his 4 games: 50% completion pct, 33 attempts/gm, 228 yds passing/gm, 10 TD to 2 INT, 41 rush yds/gm

Winning Percentage of 4 Teams Faced: .450

Player B: As a true freshman, he was inserted into a rivalry game (early in the game) after an injury to the starter. His team was 7-3 when he entered the picture. He played a substantial amount of 3 games, but went 1-1 in his two games as a starter (1 a rivalry game and another a bowl game). He beat 1 team with a winning record. He won Offensive MVP of his bowl game.

Stats in his 3 games: 53% completion pct, 22 attempts/gm 138 passing yds/gm, 4 TD to 1 INT, 33 rushing yds/gm

Winning Percentage of 3 Teams Faced: .610

My Conclusion: Player A seems to be Player B, IMO, but Player A had the good fortune of an easier schedule, playing on a better team, and being less protected by his coaching staff - probably due to having more talented pass catchers around him at the time and Player B not having the redshirt season enjoyed by Player A. Player A's top 3 WRs are now gone. Player A will shock the world with the regression he displays throughout his career.

Thoughts?

Player A: 6.9 ypa

Player B: 6.3 ypa

To glean a general consensus from tRant as to whether they agree with the comparison.

And, mainly, because studying put me in a bad mood, so I needed 30 mins to do something else.

The mystery players(A&B) are some combination of Cox, Shockley, Carter, Tereshinski, and/or Mason.

Why can't these players gain more yardage with their legs? Are player A and player B handicapped or just play in a slow offense? Content to be a single-threat?

None of the above, actually.

But, as Mizzeaux stated, Player A is Maty Mauk.

I've done this with Mauk, Thompson, Mason, and Driskel and the majority of the board went with Thompson in a blind study.

Methinks nobody ITT read the OP besides Mizzeuax. Maty Mauk is Player A.

Player B has already graduated. Hence the thread title. Hint, he didn't play for an SEC East team.

I think trying to draw comparisons with that small a sample size is really not going to give you a clear indicator.

Its cool to look at but its hard to draw any real insight.

A is obviously Mauk as others stated.

Is B Jordan Jefferson?
