Coupled with the wide-spread student ticket apathy that's been reported for a year or two now, I wonder if this is an indication that the CFB bubble is close to popping.

well the article pretty much gives out why this happened.
they used to pay $15-$20 million to sponsor the BCS bowls and now ESPN is asking for $25 million per year w/a 6 year commitment.

ESPN got greedy with their deals. Understandably though. The Fiesta Bowl and Orange Bowl were not must watch games. But now that they are playoff games, everyone will watch them.

Theres is no way they are asking THAT much for these tickets right? Wow, why the hell pay that when you can throw an awesome viewing party in your own home and enjoy the game in HD.

if prices stay that high I expect a TON of ticket brokers to take a bath on this.
