I do not agree with OP that Johnny is the MOST talented to be drafted by two professional sports teams ;but I think people will complain about this too, the guy is a great athlete.

Congrats Johnny!

Manziel just became one of the few players to be drafted by both the NFL and MLB

quote:

Dave Winfield was drafted by four teams in three different sports. The San Diego Padres selected him as a pitcher with the fourth overall pick in the MLB draft and both the Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and the Utah Stars (ABA) drafted him. And even though he never played college football, the Minnesota Vikings selected Winfield in the 17th round of the NFL draft. He is one of three players ever to be drafted by three professional sports (the others being Mickey McCarty and Dave Logan), and the only athlete drafted by four leagues.

He didn't say Manziel was the only one; he said one of the few.
I'll never understand why some of you get so bent.
Like clockwork.

Archie Manning. #2 overall NFL, drafted four times by MLB. Actually played baseball and was an All American.

This is a fricking joke, right? Manziel can't carry this guy's jock.

Would Manziel ever have had either the ability or the cojones to tell Haslam to trade him, or else he would go play baseball for the Padres?

Maybe not in the same year, but this guy was the #1 pick in the NFL draft, two years after being drafted in the 2nd round of the MLB draft. And yeah, he told Robert Irsay that if he didn't trade him, he'd go play for the Yankees. And he would have.

I think John Elway, Colts/Broncos and KC/Yankees, did alright.
