Damn what a cool son.
Growing up my dad always dreamed of owning a 57 Chevy Bel-Air. He grew up poor in a family of 7 children, explained the son.
He never thought he would be able to own his dream vehicle but would talk about it all the time.
When I was 8 years old I promised him that on his 57th birthday I would buy him a 57 Bel-Air. I never forgot and was able to fulfill my promise.
The son worked 60 hours a week, 6 days a week over a few months so he could afford to buy the classic car for his dad.
What’s even more precious about his special gift is that he bought the car two years ago and hid it from his dad all that time, patiently waiting until his dad’s 57th birthday to arrive!

Ditto. As I get more cynical, stories like this melt my cold heart...or they freshen my hot heart. Or they cool my icy heart. Or...well, I like these stories.

That dude has like 20 red gas cans. Is that normal? Does my current count of 3 not meet what is deemed necessary?

I noticed that myself. There's probably a generator in there somewhere, and he went a week or more without power after a storm and said "never again" is my guess. But it does seem a bit excessive.

That's really cool, and UK fans to boot. It seems odd to me though that you would have that hid for 2 years waiting for his 57th birthday. I probably wouldn't do it that way, I would give it to him the day I got it, or on his next birthday.
Cool either way. Love stories like that.

Wow, makes me miss my dad and wish I could have shared a moment like that with him before he passed.

that is awesome but it would have sucked if his dad died before he could give it to him.
