“(My uncle) was best friends with Bear Bryant, and Bear Bryant passed way,” Goldberg said. “My uncle asked me if I had any interest in going to Georgia because he thought very highly of a guy named Vince Dooley. Since they were the Junkyard Dogs (and) known for defense, it sort of played into my mentality. It was red and black. It was kind of a violent style of football.

“I gave it a shot … Again, what solidified my trip was a bottle of Wild Turkey that was handed to me as I was standing on top of a bar during my recruiting trip. You know, I had a great time at Georgia, great memories. It will always be that one thing in my life that I’ll want to re-enact again.”

Nice

Maybe we should have given Tunsil a handle and a nice blonde lady to replace Precious when he was at Bourbon

Man, those were the days. My cousin said when he and his buddies in the early 90s used to go to Jacksonville, a few would go in and start walking up the ramps while another down below outside would hurl up a few handles to the others. People back then sure knew how to party.

Yes we did....but the stories about our predecessors made ours pale by comparison.

The players from the 70s and early 80s did shite that we could never do. The debauchery was rampant. Of course, it was white debauchery, so it is still socially acceptable.

Back then there was no way for even a cop to tell if a fake id was fake, if it was done correctly. If anyone had a fancy camera and starting taking pictures of people partying, they got their arse beat and their camera smashed. When a reporter is on the crime beat, they had to sort through boxes of paperwork down at the station to report on crimes, so reporting on simple citations and such was such a time consuming process they didn't even bother, they only went through the felony arrest files to write their stories for the paper each week. So a football player arrested for simple possession or a misdemeanor fist-fight or underage drinking never even had a reporter's hands touch the report.

The good old days.
