Who will start against Clemson in the secondary? Looks like we will be even lighter now that Wiggins is leaving.

Deeprig's Nickel

Run this every 3rd and 4+, and we'll win the national championship.

Swann (man z)
Trigga (Deep Zone)
Davis (man x)
Green (man y)
Wilson (back pedal into Middle Zone)

Herrera (run protect, qb run protect)

Rush All Five-

Floyd (blind dog meat market)
Drew (blind dog meat market)

Mayes/Bailey (combine with Bailey with a push, make a wall, require 3 blocks between the two of you.

Jenkins (rush weak side but contain your edge being your priority)

We'll never miss Wiggins.

Don't be surprised to see Gurley in some secondary sets over the summer.

I could be wrong...considering his lingering injuries...surprised would be an understatement..I doubt we see Gurley anywhere in the secondary during any season of the year 2014....We need him 100 percent every game this coming season to be as competitive as we would like to be..

Yeah.

Malkom Parrish, Shattle Fenteng, and Reggie Wilkerson still have the Fall.

CB1 - Swann
CB2 - Davis/Wilkerson
S - Moore
S - Parrish
Star - Green
Money - Fenteng

Didn't include Matthews since I think it's 50/50 that he's even on the team in September. I also think Dominick Sanders contributes at safety and Parrish could play some star and/or money.

You know that the definition of nickel is '5' defensive backs, right?

I like the formation, though.
1985 Bears 52 defense.
We ran 52 last season with Grantham and had our best results against the run. With more emphasis on pressure by Pruitt and more action at the line of scrimmage by our DBs, I think it could be effective in some 3rd and mediums, too.

Wilson would be the 5th defensive back, just slightly oversized. Think of the play where he was ejected vs vandy, that would be his assignment, knock the dogshit out of whoever tries to catch a ball over the middle

That's his assignment as a linebacker

You always post these dumbass schemes that make no sense, example Devil Dawg or whatever the hell. Maybe you're just trying to get people to question you?

You think Mauger loses his spot?

He was never meant to be a starter and really shouldn't be. He just doesn't have the ability the starter should. If he is still our starter for the Clemson game, we are in bigger trouble than we realized this year.

Yes. The new staff is all about speed, which is an area Mauger struggles in. He'll still play some, but not as much as with the last staff, IMO.
