Why is Jordan Matthews not being talked about more? (comparisons to Alshon ITT)

262 catches, 3,700+ yards, 24 TDs

Last year had 112 catches for 1400+ yards and 7 TDs. Is he now the all-time leading receiver in SEC history or am I wrong? I know he passed Alshon, who was 3rd.

Plus, obviously, he plays in the SEC and he didn't have top QB play or much help around him on the offense.

His size is freakishly identical to Alshon Jeffery and they had similar combine stats. Alshon just had an amazing 2nd year in Chicago.

I wanted the Panthers to take him at 28 but we got Kelvin Benjamin from FSU. Not too excited though we desperately needed a WR.

So, what gives on Matthews? Is it possibly because of that whole rape thing? (I honestly can't remember how involved he was with that, if at all)
Alshon was also undervalued and went mid-second round. I see Matthews going tomorrow (early 2nd) but his numbers and size scream 1st round talent.

He had zero involvement in the rape case. Grossly undervalued apparently as I thought he was going first round. Somebody's going to get a huge steal today.

I'm pretty surprised he didn't go in the first. No way he makes it out of the second.

I'm holding out hope for him in the 2nd round although I doubt he'll be there that late in the draft.

I am sure it is some dumbass measurable, his pinky finger is a couple millimeters too short or something. The NFL draft is full of idiotic drafting and evaluation.

The knock on him (that I don't agree with at all) is that he doesn't have elite quickness in space and is more of a straight line runner. Also, for his frame, he's gonna have to gain some weight and strength to not get jammed by NFL corners. The Alshon comparison is spot on, he'll start off slow then flourish in his second year and beyond as he gets bigger and more polished. I guess the second round is fair for a guy that isn't likely to make an immediate impact, but I'd still be sick if my team missed out by trying to get him at value. He's a solid long term investment.

He will end up as one of the 2 or 3 best WRs to come out of this draft even with 6-7 guys picked in front of him.

This is who I want the Chiefs to take. He'll be a lot better than Dee Ford.

I love Matthews and can't wait to see him rip it up in the league.

I would have thought Freezus had elevated Ole Miss at least beyond the level of hating on vandy players.

frick Jordan Matthews. He caused us hell for three years so seeing him cry after choking was very satisfying.

I was hoping the saints stayed at 27 and took him. he is a good kid with a lot of potential.

With that said, I am excited with Cooks in our offense.

But imagine Colston, Graham, and Matthews all on one side of the formation

Rumblings that the Saints will take him late second if he's still there, though I'm not getting my hopes up. All the good CBs either are or will be gone, and we're thin at WR.
