the highest number of former players on 2013 NFL Week 1 rosters.

The top 12 schools are as follows:

1. USC — 40 players
2. LSU — 39
3. Miami — 38
4. Georgia — 36
5. Florida State — 31
5. Texas — 31
7. Alabama — 30
7. Cal — 30
7. Tennessee — 30
10. Ohio State — 27
10. Oregon — 27
12. Florida — 26

I’m little surprised there aren’t more ex-Alabama players in the NFL, considering the Crimson Tide have won three of the last four national titles. The general parties to expect are all here, though the fact that Tennessee and Cal both have 30 former players in the NFL is kind of eye-opening. It must be tough for Volunteers and Bears fans to have seen their teams squander that kind of talent in recent years.

LSU has the highest concentration of former players in any one category, and I really want to see a team play all 11 at once someday. Maybe I’ll try that in Madden.

The Decline is Real.

That's crazy...

What does that say about Les Miles' ability to coach his players?

That he turns them into starting millionaires.

Stats don't lie. He has a recruiting pitch that Saban can't touch.

Oh...and Bama ties Tenn.

I didn't start this thread.

I don't think anyone looks at those stats and thinks "Wow... LSU is really awesome."

They look at it and say "Wow... how is LSU so mediocre with that many NFL players?"

Not as of week 1 2013.

Good luck in 2014.

Recruits do. Recruits do.

The message will get out: play for Saban, become a bust.

Play for Miles: NFL career. Longevity. Roster spots.

THe decline is real.

I think it says Miles players are better regarded than Saban players. That's gotta hurt. Especially since Alabama has supposedly beaten LSU in recruiting.

Dumb thread. Alabama didn't have many good players to draft from 2000 through 2007.

LSU was pretty good that whole time. Give it another 5 years or so and it will even out.

Alabama has supposedly beaten LSU 3 times in a row, too.

Okay.

But from 2007 on, with the defensive back "guru", why does LSU have 11 on NFL rosters, and nobody else comes close?

At any position?

In the entire league?

Methinks that Saban cannot produce great DBs.

With LSU you always expect more, but you get Les.

Add Clowney tonight, Ellington tomorrow and the other two or three will be bonuses over the weekend.

We're doing just fine.

Why doesn't Less win more against Saban? He's 3-5 with the 9-6 anomaly thrown in there and 07, Sabans first year at
Bama.
