Is he going to be like Bert and take a few years for his system to be implemented. I won't be surprised if Tennessee fans begin to call for his head if he doesn't get 6 wins with all his new recruited talents.

Yes.

The Vocal 1% always speak the loudest. Even most Reds understand the task he was given

Oh some will call for his head if we don't go bowling - without a doubt. But most are very happy with Jones. We've been able to see improvement across the board and most understand what he inherited. Hell he's been here longer than most of the roster (think about that statement!). His personality is as such that people will give him a little more time than usual. We need stability and he's shown enough across the board to where people would be upset but it wouldn't be a firing situation.

UT's schedule is pretty tough, but more than anything if they play competitive in those games, I don't see how Butch is on the hot seat.

Some of the losses Dooley had looked downright bad.

didn't realize he's been there than most of the roster

I don't believe he is a very good coach. We should keep him as long as he's recruiting at a high level though. Will make it very difficult for the next coach to frick it up.

I called 6-6 or 5-7 in other thread. Most UT fans are expecting about the same. He will feel the heat if he goes 4-8 tho.

Yep that's what Doooley left us with. Jones isn't even his second year yet and he's been there longer. Dooley was awful but did you know he didn't recruit a single lineman one year? We have roster holes because Dooley was that incompetent.

We thought he'd done a better job recruiting but he was far worse at it than we realized.

If he gets another big win this season, i think the fanbase will be ok with 6-6. hell, he was 1 play short of beating 2 top 10 teams (iirc) last season and look what he was working with.

Do Bert and Butch get fired if Mark Stoops and Kentucky make a bowl game this year and they do not?

Discuss.

People would be very happy with 6-6 and a bowl game. Unfortunately we don't have a maturation to chamber to magically turn true frosh into sophomores and juniors. That's what we need more than anything and there's nothing to do about it but wait - just sucks we were left in this position.

I'm pretty sure Tennessee fans only care about Bruce Pearl.

No. he isn't morbidly obese and doesn't sweat gravy.

I don't think so. He's recuited good talent but it's young talent and relying on young talent doesn't win many games in this league. It would be nice to see further improvement and win a game or two they shouldn't.

How many wins does Tennessee pencil in as a W?

I think we will make 6 or 7 or 8 wins. But even if we have 5 or less, I don't think the pressure will begin until 2015, when enough of Butch's recruits are maturing. We're still young and lack depth this year.

Butch Jones was an amazing hire. UT crazies should just relax.

They can pencil all games as a win, just don't throw away that eraser. It will get plenty of use.

Hell, there were some LSU fans ready to get rid of Miles following 13 wins, an a SEC title.
