Each SEC team will continue to play eight conference football games per season, to include six games against division opponents and two games against non-division opponents. One of the non-division opponents will be a permanent annual opponent and the other non-division opponent will rotate each year.

In addition, at least one opponent from the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten or Pac-12 must be scheduled by each SEC school on an annual basis beginning in 2016, with assistance from the conference office.

@AaronSuttles: LSU AD Joe Alleva: "I understand Alabama-Tennessee and Auburn-Georgia for the history, but that's only four schools.....

bullshite.

Here we are beating up on UT every year and missing out on the good East team. Have y'all realized that we haven't played USCe in almost 4 years? And haven't played UGA in conference in 6? Tha's pathetic, in many ways the LSU fans are right about the scheduling bullshite. It is bullshite.

I don't have much interest in playing USC.

Well they're one of the better teams in the East, and it'll be a mcuh better game than playing UT, UK or Vandy. Plus it will help our SOS, which we will need to be strong for the playoffs.

The solution to both your concerns (SOS and quicker cross-division rotation) is a 9 game conference schedule; not doing away with a traditional rivalry game.

I agree. A 9-game schedule is the solution. I'm surprised they didn't do that.

The solution is going back to a 10 team conference and playing a round robin.

9 games works the best. Make it mandatory to schedule one other team from a major BCS conference, then everyone is playing 10 key games. Also, forbid the yearly scheduling of FCS teams.
