Well, maybe not all of them, but a ton of kids in the Southeast went down in the rankings. I think the only Alabama target/commitment that didn't drop was OG Lester Cotton.

What the frick?

247 rankings

I saw that Kerryon Johnson fell a good bit too my Auburn friends. Ellitor had to create a thread to explain it.

E just did that to be proactive. He doesn't like repeating himself everyday

OT: Do you know what font you used for "TideSaint" in your sig pic? TIA

Wow. That's kinda drastic.

Honestly, don't give a shite about 247's rankings. They frick with them way too often, and the only rankings that matter on NSD are ESPN because they get all the publicity.

Not a fan of 247 rankings right now. I think they tried to make some early aggressive calls to rate kids high, and they're being a little stubborn in correcting for maybe some overrated guys.

But hey, what do I know?

No, but I can find out. MrTide made it for me. I'll ask in our recruiting thread. He usually pops in every few hours.

ETA: I call it "Olde English" but I don't know the official name of it.

It's crazy. They dropped Trent Thompson down to 8th for some reason after being their #1 guy for months.

247 uses changing rankings to keep up the hits during the true offseason of CFB which is late Spring/early Summer when nothing much is going on.

However, I think they may also be realizing that the SE prospects tend to be overrated in general just because so many of the analysts are based there and see them more often, so maybe they are trying to make a correction. I do think there are plenty of 4 star guys in the SE that are likely the same as 3 star guys elsewhere...just with the exposure.

This white LBer from Utah, Porter Gustin, went from unranked to #33 overall. That is one spot below being a 5-star prospect.

He may be good, but come on. He's going to jump over almost 200 other prospects based on camp performances?

I think Thompson has been 8 on 247. He's #1 in composite.

Their ranking of both him and Toliver is puzzling. Both are easily top 5 players with high position value, imo

The strangest is Anree Saint-Amour, who they rate as a 95 and ahead of Arden Key, D'Andre Walker, Austin Bryant, etc., but only has one commitable offer, to Mizzou (unless that has changed recently). He plays at a big HS so it's not like he's lacking exposure.

247 had him rated at 90 on the 6th then he got a good nit of west coast offers *shrugs*. That's a rather large white boy regardless.

Didn't see any of our commits/targets head down. Toliver at 9 seems quite odd though.

They update their ranking after every camp. They just moved all the texas kids up because they had a camp there recently. They overreact to one time seeing a kid.

Trying to deplete SEC rosters by convincing coaches that those slow Northern kids are better...

This is why you don't get too excited about recruiting rankings(team and player), 10 months before signing day.

I don't see how they can move guys up or down when the haven't played a game in the mean time. Camps don't mean shite.
