Last year's Tide Pride prices for the VT game were $60 upper bowl, $90 lower bowl.

This year's prices for WVA are $80 upper, $140 lower.

WTF?

Tide Pride members, you may not be aware that if, because of your point level, your order form only gives you the $140 option, you can mark through the $140 on the order form and write in $80.

I could end up being proven wrong, but I think that $140 to seea WVA team that was 4-8 last year will be a tough sell.

on the tickets?

Overall I hate this game. If we're going to play a "Big XII" ( ) team, let it at least be a TRUE Big XII team like OU, okie aggy, kstate or UT.

No surprise there, cost of being a fan goes up yearly. I'm sure the Chikfila Bowl being part of the playoff group has something to do with it to since it's the same committee putting this game on. We usually get pretty good seats from Tide Pride so I'll order them, but I'm sure tickets won't be anywhere near that expensive on the secondary market.

The cost of being a fan shouldn't go up over 50% in a year. Even the supervisor in the ticket office I spoke with today, without coming out and directly saying it, pretty much concurred that the price was absurd

It will be interesting to see if we return any of our alotment. I don't see a lot of Bama fans forking over that kind of money to see us play a shitty team, and I sure don't see a lot of WVA fans paying it to see their team get raped.

Oh I don't disagree that it's absurd, but there is also no way we don't sell out our allotment.

I predict this game may not even sell out and you'll be able to get tickets the week of for less than face. Similar to the Va Tech game last year. I had 3 or 4 friends offer me their tickets for less than face for that game.

Actually, I think that we could return some of our allotment because, if you are at the level where you get offered $140 tickets...and the point value isn't that high; I have well under 200 points...our ticket office will not let you know that you can request the cheaper seats. You have to call in and complain a little, and then they will tell you that you can request the cheaper seats. Many fans who think that they have to buy the $140 tickets or nothing may just decline the tickets.

Since I've had to pay $200+ the past few years I am looking forward to paying only $140.

So, when Tide Pride charged you $90, you sent them an extra $110? Or is this the first year your point total has been high enough to get lower bowl seats?
