I figured I'd post this as it may create some good discussion. Gus may not have a 2 deep like he did last year but here's Bryan Matthews' stab at it. LINK

Here’s a look at the offense with my comments on each position:

QUARTERBACK
1. Nick Marshall, Sr.
2. Jeremy Johnson, So.

This one is easy. There’s no question in my mind that this is the best pair of quarterbacks in the SEC. It’s a great situation for Auburn heading into the 2014 season.

RUNNING BACK
1. Cameron Artis-Payne, Sr.
2. Corey Grant, Sr. OR Peyton Barber, RFr.

Again, pretty straight forward. If I listed the speed back in this depth chart, Grant would be the starter. I think this is also a strong position and will be even better with the addition of two more including Roc Thomas in the summer.

FULLBACK/H-BACK
1. Brandon Fulse, Sr.
2. Ricky Parks, So. OR Gage Batter, So.

Fulse looked like he improved his blocking this spring, which is important as Auburn looks for a replacement for Jay Prosch.

TIGHT END
1. C.J. Uzomah, Sr.
2. Brandon Fulse, Sr.

It’s an experienced and dependable group. Uzomah is a very tough matchup in the red zone.

WIDE RECEIVER
1. Sammie Coates, Jr.
2. Ricardo Louis, Jr.

WIDE RECEIVER
1. D’haquille Williams, Jr.
2. Tony Stevens, So.

SLOT RECEIVER
1. Quan Bray, Sr.
2. Marcus Davis, So.

This is the best and deepest group of receivers at Auburn in at least 10 years and maybe longer. It’s also the most improved position from a year ago. Credit Dameyune Craig and Auburn’s staff for recruiting and developing these guys, and credit the players for stepping up. All six of the players listed plus Jaylon Denson and Melvin Ray are capable of starting. It’s going to be a fun group to watch this fall.

LEFT TACKLE
1. Shon Coleman, So.
2. Patrick Miller, Jr.

I think Coleman has won the starting job at left tackle. Miller may start at right tackle, but I think if there’s an injury to Coleman, Miller would be his true backup. Sophomore Robert Leff could backup the left or tight tackle position and is a future starter.

LEFT GUARD
1. Alex Kozan, So.
2. Devonte Danzey, Jr.

Kozan is a future NFL player and probably Auburn’s best offensive lineman. Danzey is a quality backup. Sophomore Jordan Diamond missed spring with an injury but will be in the mix at both guard positions this fall.

CENTER
1. Reese Dismukes, Sr.
2. Xavier Dampeer, Jr.

Dismukes is one of the best centers in the country. Dampeer had a very good spring after transferring from junior college and is a solid backup. Redshirt freshman Deon Mix played center for the White team in the A-Day game and is also in the mix at guard.

RIGHT GUARD
1. Chad Slade, Sr.
2. Avery Young, Jr.

This was a very tough call. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Young is the starter at guard this fall, but Slade was the starter in the A-Day game and has a ton of experience. Regardless of how it plays out, Auburn has plenty of talent and depth to be very good on the o-line this fall. Sophomore Will Adams started at right guard for the White team during A-Day.

RIGHT TACKLE
1. Avery Young, Jr.
2. Patrick Miller, Jr.

Miller would be the starter here if Young plays guard. That versatility is another positive for this o-line. There are six -- Coleman, Kozan, Dismukes, Slade, Young and Miller -- that could be considered starters, and most of those guys can play at least two positions. With enough practice, Young could play all five.

With Corey Grant leaving after this year, who do we see taking over that role? Truitt?

I agree on all the only thing I would add is Bray should be on a very short leash with Marcus Davis behind him

Roc and Truitt although I think it will be a bit different for Roc. He not as top end fast as CG so I think when they want outside production from him he will already be in space when he gets the ball. He is very good in open space.

All three of these guys play the same receiver position.

Sammie Coates and Duke Williams will be moved around to make sure they are both are the field at the same time.
