The candidate is believed to be Xavier's Chris Mack, Dayton's Archie Miller or Minnesota's Rick Pitino according to sources. The meeting took place north of Knoxville and Tennessee AD Dave Hart was present.
In other news, it appears Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin is out of the running.
No timetable for the hire, but Tennessee would prefer to have a coach in place in the next 4-5 days before next weekend's AAU evaluation period and it could be much sooner than that, although Easter Sunday could slow things down a tad.
