Like the title says, will the SEC Network reach everyone in the SE before college football season? If you remember the NFL network wasn't picked up by cable in the Carolina's until the Carolina Panthers played on Thursday night a few years ago.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if DirecTV plays hardball, and doesn't get it in time. Though Dish already having it could force their hand.
I think a poster mentioned that Comcast is waiting till after a merger is approved, which makes sense. Who are they wanting to merge with? Charter? Time Warner?

The games we'd normally see will be broadcast regardless of the network so that shouldn't be a problem at all. The SEC Network is more about adding extra SEC games/making them available to all and adding extra content and more sports right now.

So there shouldn't be a problem. ESPN will carry the games it normally would as will other networks. The SEC Network will carry alternate games/conflicting schedule games and games that would otherwise be PPV.

Unfortunately cable is going to be only one entity after the merger you mentioned. The reason I posted on here now was to bring awareness that cable has not picked up the SEC Network even though it is a brand of ESPN.

DirecTV did this exact same thing with the PAC 12 network and they still don't carry it. I'm not sure Dish having it will affect anything, which is why I'm switching to Dish. I'm not gonna wait around because DirecTV may never pick it up.

Maybe I'm giving the fools in charge DirecTV a little too much credit, and knowing the PAC fan is not the SEC fan. I left them a year ago for Dish so I could get CST. Told them the only reason was that channel and LSU baseball.

Dish has already picked up the SEC Network, my beef is that cable isn't on board before their launch in August. If ESPN is attached then why doesn't this become mainstream?

Yea Stonehog, unless you already know someone with Dish, I can give you my info and we both get $50.

Cox Cable rules the roost around here, I think they will pick it up because they had CST. If they'll carry something like CST then they will almost certainly pick up the SEC network. DirecTV just doesn't seem to care about regional sports networks.

I watched the Senate hearings. Unless a serious kickback comes through, I see it getting blocked.
