While I was there......I caught a 6lb large mouth bass....played probably the nicest golf course in the state Saturday(shot 89)...got drunk while riding a Polaris Ranger around 4k acres in the cold rain....had spud nuts....read about Bijohn Jackson breaking the state record for power clean and also benching 410 lbs....read about Junction City's weight program and them finishing 2nd in the overall standings....chased turkey's on foot for about 75 yards...they won because they have wings....saw a water moccasin in 46 degree weather....ran from water moccasin in 46 degree weather....discovered that other parts of the state get state road money before NWA...drove 8 miles of the most worthless bypass(around Sheridan) I've ever seen in my life...drove through Camden and, once again the population has dropped since my last trip through town....drove down highway 7 through Smackover and it looks like they've gained about 30 people on their population sign...congrats...
That about sums it up!
That about sums it up!

Umm you mean LA? Lower Arkansas...

I've heard about that place recently. Heard it was flat out awesome. U played the ridges at village creek in wynne? Better than that?

Did the water moccasin move? I'd figure he'd be too cold for his cold-blooded body to be active. Now I need to know.

Well, he moved his head and opened his mouth. That was enough for me.

Yeah that's enough to do damage.

What was worthless about it? If you took 167 through the middle of Sheridan enough, you would realize how much North-South traffic clogs up the local traffic. Personally, I am glad to see the chemical trucks from El Dorado skirt around town instead of driving through the middle of town, and especially in front of the middle school.
No development along the bypass yet, it just opened, but it's coming.

The fact that people in Sheridan are such horrendous drivers that they need three stop lights on a freaking bypass.

Your cheap arse state highway department designed the bypass, not Sheridan people. There should have been proper overpasses and exits. Instead, they deemed stop lights would be adequate for intersecting major north-south (167) and east-west (270) highways.

saw a water moccasin in 46 degree weather....ran from water moccasin in 46 degree weather...
I went fishing from the bank once, as I walked down the bank I saw something move, it was the biggest damn moccasin I ever seen, not just length, but its head was as big around as your fist.
It opens its mouth and starts to coil up, I go to walk backwards, slip and fall. I manage to crab walk my way back to the truck, didn't have to go back to get my poll as I luckily hooked my hand and drug it back in with me.
I sat in the truck and drank a 6 pack in 5 minutes, the guys I was with continued to fish.

Just hit the snake with a stick. Works every time.

I drive through Sheridan multiple times on a weekly basis. They can barely handle stop lights without causing collisions. I could only imagine what would happen if they were introduced to on-ramps.

What's worthless about it?
It's worthless because it wasn't needed. Sheridan, like most all of South Arkansas is shrinking in size. I've driven through Sheridan many a time and only recall once having to wait on school buses to get onto the road by their school.
The bypass is a speed trap set at 60mph also. I saw three cops just waiting for someone to pull over in a nine mile stretch. It saved absolutely no time either.
I'm trying to figure out the point of that money being spent, while other parts of the state have legitimate traffic issues, winter weather issues, etc., where we are told there is a shortage of funds.
