UK was dead in the water a few weeks ago. The loss at South Carolina, the blowout loss at UF.

The turnaround of UK in the SEC tournament, and now in the NCAA tournament has been amazing.

He can flat out coach.

I would say his roster is finally playing up to its potential inspite of his coaching

So you are saying Cal's model is working? Talent > Experience

I've always said Calipari was underrated as a coach because there's so many out there that seem to think he just rolls the ball out there.

Anyone that can take UMass to the Final Four can coach a bit. He also had Memphis on the verge of a title. Sure he had Rose but he also built an experienced roster of less heralded guys like Joey Dorsey, Chris Douglas Roberts, and Robert Dozier.

I still think he's dirty and wouldn't want him coaching my team, but he can coach.

UK and ARIZ only teams with one-and-done players still in it

The model only works if that model wins a title

I think his ability to basically calm the hell down and make some big adjustments late in the season have been huge. Sometimes it just takes them longer to buy in. It was the same with Knight and Co.

At some point he has to start getting credit when he's doing things like going 6-1 against HOF guys like Pitino. And handing him his first ever Sweet 16 loss.

That SEC tournament loss that they should have at least had a shot at the end has put a fire under their arse..... Dammit why didn't I think of this on my bracket.

They will be a tough out with this momentum.. Honestly I think they can win it all now.

I'm so tired of them hitting 3's. They're due for an off night.. I hate Cal(for recruiting reasons) but I think you guys have the momentum.

Good luck Sunday. Should be a great game

Also, what was final verdict on his injury?

Nothing official. Rumor is an achilles tendon. He's likely done for the tournament unfortunately.

Damn tough loss.

Good thing with playing Michigan it's going to come down to perimeter defense. I like your chances.

That's why he took UMass to the Final 4, right?
