I've not made french toast in years, going to do some up this morning for brunch here in a bit.

I got a wild hair and I think I'm going to prepare it with raspberries and chopped walnuts.

You guys prefer to make it normal or go off the wall with flavor combos?

I go off the wall. The best I made was an almond amaretto batch. Wife had some Amaretto flavored coffee creamer that I put in with the eggs. Then I toasted some sliced almonds and put them on top once they were done.

ETA: I also put some Amaretto Di Saronno in the maple syrup and warmed it up on the stove.

Just depends on my mood. I almost always add cinnamon or a little bit of apple butter to the egg/milk mix.
