Don't know if anyone posted this or not (probably not though).

Chris Smelley, former Gamecock qb and Alabama catcher accepted the head football coaching job at his alma mater American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in January of this year.

He is the brother of former Alabama player and current Houston Texan Brad Smelley.

quote:

Smelley earned All-State honors in football and baseball during his playing time at ACA. He played college football at South Carolina under Steve Spurrier from 2006-2008. As a starter in 21 games, he finished 9-6.

He then transferred to Alabama to play baseball for his final year of athletic eligibility.

I know that many people won't care but I thinks it's good because I grew up around these guys (although I'm bit older than them) and their family, so it's good to see them having success and get opportunities to do what they love.

Honeycombs 4 Life. The FR don't know what they're missing. Moore and LaBorde were co-ed, sneaking kegs in using mini fridge boxes, AroundTheWorld floor parties, Naked Indy runs...good times.

For some reason, I don't think this is completely accurate

The way Spurrier yanks QBs, I figure the writer has just taken to using starting pitching rules. If the guy left with the game tied, or the team came back and won he got a no decision....
