I am excited for auburn basketball. This hire should ease your pain for the upset on Labor day week-end. Maybe auburn will become a basketball school now that Alabama has given up on the sport and clearly the tigers will always be second fiddle to the tide instate for football. Didn't cliff ellis have auburn ranked #1 once? Good hire

I would hope for auburns sake there is clause in his contract not allowing him to take another sec job. If he does well and the vols don't in the next few years, i'm sure they try to hire him back.

Pearl might win some games at Auburn, and he'll recruit the hell out of some young kids. But the people who are involved in college basketball (i.e. coaches) continue to remember that Pearl is a cheating rat bastard who sold out on other coaches.

Some programs have ADs that keep their University's best interests at heart at all times, two that come to mind are Louisville and Auburn.
