I'll be there, should be good. We've got two teams ranked ahead of us so the crowd could be the difference.

I'm going to be in Birmingham for the next week. Thinking about taking my girls, but only upper bowl seats are left.
I've never been to a gymnastics match and wondering if the seats are worth it. Can you see what's going on?
Thanks.

You should be able to. You actually might have a better view than many of the lower bowl seats. Last time the BJCC hosted the SCE championships it was very difficult to see one of the events from the lower bowl section I was in.

Thanks. Purchased the tickets. See y'all there.

NORMALLY.. I'd say no. But Alabama is competing at home. They won't have the opportunity to host SECs again for another 5 years. the only reason they're hosting so quickly after 2011 is the National Championships are back here as well. (the SEC loves to give their teams an advantage by putting SECs in the same place as NCAAs)
BTW, the NCAAs up to 2018 have been announced. none of them in the South. (unless you count St. Louis)

they announced on twitter that Friday all the teams will be out to stretch, practice and talk to the media at 1pm (I think Bama's evening session will have them practicing a bit later like 2:30ish). Should be a free and a great way to get a feel for the arena if you're already in Birmingham.

I do not get it either. It should be near schools that can actually draw crowds (rotate it from LA, Birmingham, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Orlando, maybe NO, etc.). I mean Dallas? None of the big schools in Texas have a women's program.

Nope, but a whole it'll probably mean a whole lot of Boomer Sooner.

Alabama Gymnasts Kim Jacob was named SEC-Scholar Athlete of the Year.
She's also won the Elite 89 Award 2 years in a row. (ie, the smartest gymnast in Division I).
Roll Tide!

I would guess she is going to make it three in a row for Elite 89 too.

I'll be in section 24u, row L. First person to find me gets a free beer.
Please tell me they sell beer at this thing.

Alright. We're here. I'm assuming it's ok to heckle and use laser pointers?

No. I am struggling with anger on that one.

Only if you yell out their first names and only when they are about to do something impressive.

Didn't you just get kicked out of a baseball game? If so, I'm understandably nervous about taking your advice.

If I was there I'd walk through that section screaming your name. I know what it is. Haha.

You'd probably pronounce it wrong though.

How different could it be?
