Nick Saban clearly disagrees with the list

The list is about right. The teams above us either have a much bigger recruiting base or more (better) history.

In-state talent is overrated when it comes to these rankings.

I personally would put mizzou in front of Ole Miss, North Carolina, and Louisville, but I guess in state talent factored into their decision there.

Almost certainly. Ole Miss and Mizzou are WAY better jobs than Louisville is IMO.

I don't disagree Texas is 1 at all. The fact they could only get Strong shows what a cluster their AD is right now

Well, you have to keep most of it at home, true. It's just a list (by Athlon at that ) but fair enough I guess. I wouldn't trade #9 LSU for #1 UT for anything.

I honestly haven't.

I can't think of a pro that Louisville has over us or Mizzou.

LSU and FSU should be higher, Notre Dame lower.

ETA: Seems better to do it by categories than lists: elite, very good, good, not good jobs. Nitpicky to do it otherwise.

Alabama is a better place to coach than the tsips. That is a fact.
