I hope we can beat Bama and that Lsu can beat Georgia so we get the double bye. We would get to relax and then play a crappy team with tired legs.

With those numbers, you have to think a win against Bama would make us locks for the tourny.

It should, yes.

But if we do get the double by and play a bottom feeder team, losing would be a huge blow and have us nervous as hell come Selection Sunday.

That might actually be the ideal scenario, as far as making a run in the NCAAt. The team would get plenty of rest and could get slotted as a 12 seed.

We don't want a 12 seed, we'd likely be in the play in game. Bracketology had us in the play in game as the 12 seed vs Oregon.

We need to beat Bama, and beat whoever we play first game whether one by or double by and get an ~11 seed ideally.

Ideal would be a 9 or 10 seed IMO

If we can beat Bama and LSU can beat UGA, that double bye would be nice.. Win the first game and get a shot at Florida. Try not to get blown off the floor and then pray no upsets in mid major conference tourneys.

As long as nothing crazy happens, I think if we can finish 2-1 we will be seeded 9-11 somewhere.

Yeah, but I believe only two 12 seeds will get put in the play in game. 12 seed/no play in game would be great. We're playing well enough to beat a 5 seed and 4 seed.

I mean, I'm not going to complain if we win the SECt and get 6/7 seed though.

Risk I'd rather not take, Bracketology already had us there in the play in game.

If your scenario happened we'd be one of the last teams selected and being from the SEC we'd be prime for the play in game.

With how we've played the last month, no excuse to lose to a bad Bama team and a bad team in the SECT. I'd rather lose in SECT than to Bama, conference tournaments hold a lot less weight with the committee.

IF by some miracle we did win the SECt....I think we would be a 4 or 5.

You'd have a win over Florida and probably another over Kentucky. We would be 26-9 and like 7 or 8 wins over top 50 RPI teams.

That's a great, great resume for an SEC team.

I don't think we win the tourney though.

Yeah, I'm not saying we should start throwing games trying to get the 12 seed. Just saying there could be a silver lining to going one and done in the tournament.

Moved up to 33 in the Sagarin. (Tenn is 28)

The Sagarin is looked at by the committee, BPI? not so much.

My hope:

Get to semis of SECT. 9 seed in Wichita St's region. Be in St. Louis with KU.

Xavier losing tonight was good for us, if they had beat Villanova they would have been at the top of the bubble.

Lunardi had them in, guess they will fall to first four out or further possibly.

He had St. Joes, Xavier, Oregon, and Providence in just ahead of us, which is his way of saying he refuses to eat crow.

Arkansas:

All of a sudden, the Razorbacks look like they’re the third-best team in the SEC, and the only team not named Florida or Kentucky to feel comfortable about their NCAA tournament standing as of today. They’ve now won six straight games — including one in Rupp Arena — and have just a single, one-point loss since February 1st. They have four top 50 wins, are 9-8 against the top 100 and only have a single ugly loss on their resume. The SEC is bad enough, however, that Arkansas probably can’t afford to lose to the likes of Alabama, who they play this weekend. But they’re in good shape.

Right now USA Today has us as a 10 seed

Milwaukee

(7) New Mexico vs. (10) Arkansas

(2) Michigan vs. (15) Georgia State

Which is solidly in the tournament at this point.

Meanwhile ESPN's fricktards Luanardi and Katz are back to the "a loss and they are out", meaning tomorrows game is a must win to make the tourney.
