Will Calipari attempt to discontinue the Arkansas series again?

As HC at Memphis, Calipari chose to end the Arkansas-Memphis basketball series, which was an excellent rivalry at the time.

The reason Coach Cal chose to do this mostly had to do with fear of playing elite-level competition, and preferring to play Conference USA level teams.

However, he attempted to cover this up by claiming that Arkansas was no longer a "national program."

Now that UK has lost 3 in a row (and 4 of the last 5) to Arkansas, how will Coach Cal escape his greatest fear this time? The way I see it, he has two options:

A) Resign as HC of UK

This isn't a great solution, since there is probably nowhere better for Calipari to be allowed to use his illegal recruiting tactics and get the benefit of calls from referees.

B) Lobby for UK to leave the SEC

Option B has some appeal, as UK would be a more natural fit in the ACC or Big Ten.

Thoughts?

Well, you haven't been relevant in NCAA Basketball since 1994. Was he really that far off?

Bad news...he has no choice except to exit the conference in shame

Otherwise, a future full of this

when he said this, I believe arkansas made the sweet 16. At that point, sweet 16 was a down year for arkansas.

Belle, you've clearly fallen for some of Calipari's lies.

Facts:

Arkansas was in the national championship game in '95. Somewhat relevant.

Arkansas had won 2 of the last 3 vs. Memphis when Cal cancelled the series.
