When both Gaines (injured for 2 games) and Morris (suspended for 4 games) start at the same time, we are 14-6. 14-5 if you count AU where Gaines was hobbled and wasn't himself. Nobody talks about that.
ETA: Finally 3rd in the power rankings though.

Why is GA always hurt in every sport?

Who the heck is the wimpy Georgia voter that made that lame-arse comment on the chart?
So we earn our way to #3 in the conference, and hold onto it for a week or two, and all you can muster is a "we aren't the 3rd best team in the conference but this is a power ranking" comment.
Really? That is it?
Gee guys, sorry we keep winning more than the rest of you (except Fla. and Ky., so don't freak), but we have to play the games. So sorry. But please don't dislike me because even though we are third place in the conference, we aren't really, it's just we have to be because of our record.
Unreal.

These voters are a bunch of idiots.

We had one player injured for 3 games (out for 2, played in 1). That's it. The entire year. Fox just doesn't recruit enough depth to hide it.

I'm so tired of UGA fans complaining about the power rankings. Positions 3-10 are essentially all of about equal ability which is why the power rankings has been so difficult this year in the SEC outside of the top 2 and the bottom 4.
Georgia wouldn't have this issue, and may even have been in the NCAA tournament discussion, had they not lost 3 games to sub 150 RPI teams, 2 of which were out of conference. The rest of the #3-10 teams don't have that many bad losses (sub RPI 150) COMBINED. In addition, their best out of conference win came against WOFFORD (RPI 175)! REALLY! WOFFORD!?
So, yeah, sometimes you gotta scratch your head and say, jeez, how is UGA winning these games? Especially when they've been easily and utterly destroyed by some of the decent teams they've played.
The reason I've finally brought UGA up in the power rankings (i ranked them 3rd) was because they have been consistent the last 3 weeks, which is something you can't say about the rest of the SEC except for UF, Kentucky, and actually Arkansas (winners of 5-6 just like UGA).
Another thing, if you look at Pomeroy's ratings, which have been pretty good at predicting wins and losses the last few years, UGA ranks below everyone in the 3-10 slots except for Vanderbilt and Texas A&M.
Just some food for thought.

Yea I put Georgia 3rd this week too, simply because they're two games better than the seven 7-7 teams. It's fairly difficult to distinguish between teams 3-10 so I gave UGA the benefit of the doubt with the 9-5 record.

Here's some more food for thought - I wasn't complaining about the power rankings this week.
Doesn't seem all that complicated. We have (by two full games) the third best record in the conference, so we should be third in the power rankings. Seems logical to me.
So thanks. I guess?

Hogs should be 3rd next week after beating UK and UGA.

Which poster in this thread complained about the power rankings? I must have missed it.

So... this is bitching. This right here. And you've been complaining about peoples perceptions of Georgia for at least 3 weeks now. Maybe not out right bitching but definitely some female passive aggressive bitching.
When you're making a power rankings, the record isn't the only criteria you use.
For example, does anyone really doubt that UT is better than UGA after that utter destruction in Knoxville?
Not really, but again, head to head records aren't the only criteria in a power ranking either. You have to award teams for consistency too, and the only thing UT has done with consistency is shite the bed.
And finally, part of a power rankings is overall body of work and SOS, and frankly, UGA's is shite. The only thing UGA has going for them is that 9-5 conference record and the fact that they are currently 5-2 against the rest of the 3-10 teams in the conference and even then, 4 of those wins are at home and UGA is 3-9 away from home and at neutral courts. UGA has a chance to solidify itself as #3 in the conference playing Missorui at home tonight, and Arkansas and LSU away in the next two weeks. If you assume they are good enough to beat MSU at home, and they win 2 of those 3, then UGA will be 12-6, and as long as they don't lay an egg in the tournament, no one will argue about their remarkable conference season and their relative position in the conference hierarchy for the remainder of the season.

Woohoo. LSU with the green arrow!

Relax, man.
And, yeah, I was bitching. But not at all about where Georgia was ranked, which was what YOU angrily claimed I was bitching about. Reading comprehension is your friend!
Now, just to make it clear to you, since it clearly isn't, I've never even once said Georgia was/is/will be a good basketball team. We're not. Only two teams in the conference are any good - the gators (yay for you! ) and Kentucky. The rest of the conference just ain't all that.
But you have to rank what you have. And when Georgia has a much better in conference record than any team outside the big two - you should recognize. Which you did, even though you're bitching about it (get over it. Georgia's third. ).
So quit trying to find an argument with someone who's agreeing with you.
