Alabama reference in 1938 Oscar winning movie

Was watching TCM and an old Jimmie Stewart 1938 movie, "You Can't take it with You".
A few minutes into the movie, the scene in the living room, there are 2 Alabama pennants hanging on the wall. Thought it was cool.

Alabama had a former player involved in Hollywood around that time. I wonder if he had something to do with this occurrence.
