Unfortunately, MM26's inability to stay healthy has kept him off the stat sheets for longer than any of us would prefer. It's been injury after injury. We're snakebit at WR, sometimes.

I don't think anyone underestimated Mitchell when he was healthy. But right now it's not a given that he'll be able to produce at that level. Neither he nor Scott-Wesley have regained their earlier form yet IMO.

I still think MM is his rusty 2014 form was better than Conley (who had a bum shoulder, to be fair), but I think I'm in the minority in that belief.
I have high expectations for MM in 2015.

I have 0 expectations for MM, but I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than letdown (again). The man is a china doll; all it takes is strong wind to end his season.

Our receiver situation wasn't very good in 2014. Hutson took a lot of the blame for low passing yardage (including some from me), but there were times when he didn't have guys getting open and the WR depth wasn't good for a big chunk of the season. Fixing that issue will go a long way toward helping next year's QB.

I thought MM played kind of sloppy at times but he still has that natural gift that most don't have. If he has a healthy year I expect him to put up good numbers. That being said, we need Slayton and Godwin in this class. Those 2 have MM like ability.

To be fair, AJ is the most talented WR we have ever had. Freaks of nature such as he dont come around very often.
I'm cool with most of our WR's being role players, with your MM types just being an added bonus. We haven't really been a catch and run team, nor does it matter as long as we catch the passes that should be caught or offenses will roll on and on.

We still need guys that can create separation. We've struggled with that whenever Mitchell's been out the past couple years. Godwin and Slayton can do that.

In 2014 we weren't. We had lots of YAC in prior years. A big part of getting yards after catch is how much separation the receiver gets and how well the quarterback can zip the ball to him when he gets open.

Lilly and McLendon went to see Slayton this AM. Post up on 247 if anyone can provide cliffs.

When they arrived, Slayton thumped his chest, started squawking, flapping his arms like a bird, and screaming "Woah Eaguh!" repeatedly, per Rusty. He'll likely flip within the week.
Just kidding, it says the staff has made him a priority and they're basically sending the whole crew to his school today.

Just saying the staff has let him know he is a priority. Shotty and the other coaches will also be visiting him today.

I'd say we are a pass and catch team. Let's not forget Murray holds just about every passing record u can. Our WR were not very good last season that's why I hope Godwin and Slayton can come in and produce right away

I was afraid of this. Sounds like he got the Opelika-AIDS

Rusty said this morning the Deontai Williams may have some grade concerns. IMO, we'll know how serious they are based on if Choates gets offered this weekend or not

Well damn. I like his video and he seems to be a solid commitment.

mm26 was indeed rusty and timid upon return
However, I saw improvement and a bit of the old MM26 start to come around as the season went on.
He'll have a fantastic year IMO

In case this isn't already posted, a couple of the blogs report we've gotten another offensive line commitment...right tackle Sam Madden. He has reportedly flipped from Wisconsin to UGA. Listed as 6-7, 330 on several sites, though the Columbus Ledger blog reported him at 6-7, 340.
Not sure of the back story. I saw one article that implied he wasn't going to pass UW admission standards; if that's true, not sure what it would mean for UGA. Apparently he also has offers from Boston College, Iowa, Miami, Nebraska, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and others.
