And I've noticed a lot of people raving about Wynn, which you should since he is going to be very good. But I also think Dyshon Sims will be a good one. So we're starting to develop a little depth with the youngsters on the OL. Which is nice.

Most have forgotten about Jake Edwards too, Huge raw kid, All DAWG, coming in from Heard Co. before he got hurt... Looking forward to seeing how he's recuperated & progressed since his injury... Might be a big forgotten surprise...

Is Cardiello a lost cause at this point? Haven't heard anything about him in some time.

I don't think so...Some kids just develop at different rates. I've heard nothing about Josh one way or the other....

Huge news with Madden. I would love for him to be ready right away, but he might need a full year of strength and conditioning before he contributes. Big freaking get though.

The good news with Deandre Baker for UGA, even though he's 50/50, is that Texas may not have room for him if things go according to their plans.

We don't HAVE to have Madden next year. Which is perfect if he's not ready. We can strengthen him up, technique him up, playbook him up, and then in 2016 - team him up. With Cleveland.

The future ... is bright.

Per Tider Insider:

quote:
Speculation following the visits was that Godwin is giving serious consideration to flipping his commitment to Alabama. TI spoke with a source this afternoon who confirmed that Godwin had a "great" visit to UA. He spent a lot of time with Tide linebacker Reuben Foster and talking with early enrollee quarterback Blake Barnett during the visit.

They also said as of tonight they expected him to stick with UGA

BOL and Rusty should have updates tomorrow as well

Rico flip to UGA looks imminent

Thanks for the report Bucc.

I do believe Godwin sticks with the Dawgs, although Bama will always make you sweat when they go hard after a recruit.

Would be nice to get Rico and, before you get too bent out of shape - he was committed to us long before you swiped him.

So we'd just be getting him back.

Nothing surprises me in recruiting but I think Godwin loves UGA. If he does flip, so be it. I might punch a baby or set a house on fire but nothing outrageous.

As for Rico flipping, I'll believe it when I see it.

Good report bud. I would love to flip McGraw, but I think Godwin sticks.

Note: UGA has 26 commitments, including three listed as offensive linemen: Madden, Marist’s Sage Hardin and DeVondre Seymour of Hinds junior college. What about the four that Buchanan mentioned? That’s unclear. Either UGA has a current commitment at another position that will shift to another position in college, a “secret” commitment that only UGA knows about (Patrick Allen?) or Buchanan simply heard it wrong. Whatever the case, the most important thing to know out of all of that is that Buchanan has first-refusal on the UGA offer until another OL target arrives in the middle of this week. And who is the midweek visitor? Buchanan said he did not know.

This is from the AJC article about Buchanans official visit this weekend in Athens. Can anyone explain the part about him saying UGA having four OL commitments but publicly they only have three? Who might be the fourth and who is visiting this week? And how does Allen play into all of this?

He probably meant we'll take four. Allen is a take either way imo.

Some serious smoke regarding Slayton to AU. Will be tough to keep him down the stretch.

He chose UGA over AU when he committed so he has always liked AU. Would hate losing him more than Van.

I don't believe so, this is the quote:
quote:

“He said they have a guy coming in for a midweek visit. He said there is one more spot left because Sam Madden (an offensive lineman from New Jersey) has committed. He said they’re trying to take five, and they already have four. He said because Sam committed, there’s one spot left and they have a midweek guy coming in.
“Coach Richt told me that so I could be aware of the situation. He said if I take another visit next weekend and the midweek guy commits to UGA, then I wouldn’t have a spot there."

He is definitely under the impression that we have 4 commits on the OL right now. Hardin, Madden, and Seymour and tbqh, from what I've heard, Seymour may not qualify. Either our coaches are already counting Allen as recommitted or there is someone else on the hook that isn't public knowledge.

week before signing day is one of my favorite times of the year, lol...

read on one of the other boards Richt took Daddy Madden out for Krispy Kreme donuts right after he got there and he liked the gesture very much. probably got the 'how i groom fine young men not just football players' speech while sinking their teeth into some HOT ones.
