24/7 4* JUCO DT Devaroe Lawrence (Auburn Commit)

He is visiting Mississippi State this weekend.
Looks like the Auburn people on 24/7 are saying they told him to start looking around because they think a HS DT from LA is going to commit.
What are y'alls thoughts on this guy?

The way we rotate our D-linemen, he probably would have gotten some PT this year. I think the major knock against him is his size. He apparently has a great work ethic though.

He's underrated because of the system he plays in for his JuCo team, but I'm not stressing over his loss. He will probably flip to Mississippi State.

I like this guy...hard working, good character, raw but talented....I hope he stays with us

That is conjecture from 24/7 posters. No info has come out about this. He has been pretty high on our board and our coaches liked him early. It is completely possible that our staff decided to go a different direction but nothing conclusive has occured.
Devaroe Lawrence loved Auburn though and wanted to commit the first day of his OV. If you saw him during IB weekend you would know that if it is up to him he is going to AU. I would bet money that no "flip" is happening unless it is on our end
Personally I want him. Developing really well and stats don't show the story at GMC.

With stuckey possibly not qualifying (another juco DT), I doubt we're pushing Lawrence away... and he has 3 years of eligibility left, I believe.

He has only taken one of his OVs so it isn't surprising that he is taking them. From where he was IB weekend to visiting in December and meeting with coaches about his academic progress and such, something had to seriously "change" for him to seriously consider others.

I hope we keep him but Devaroe is one of the highest quality kids in our class so if MSU is what is best for him, I will still cheer him on (except against AU).
A little background for you grinders, (story as it was told to me) he grew up in foster care and did not intent on playing CFB. He was working at what I believe was a fast food restaurant and saw that there were tryouts at GMC for the football team and he figured why not. Turned his life around and is a monster in the weight room due to his work ethic. High class guy considering his background
