With tonight's loss to the Vols AU has lost 18-19 games and we are 0-13 in conference play. We won't make the NIT and will more than likely finish dead last in the conference. He gone

He just needs one more year...

Barbee is the Jake Holland of AU basketball
Posted on 1/15/14 at 8:27 pm to AUtigR24
Our basketball program is an absolute embarrassment.

But guyz, he sooooo close to winning! I see potential! Extension time JJ

Why another thread on Barbee, they don't change shite.
Posted on 1/15/14 at 8:38 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
Because there was a "1 more year" thread earlier this week

Really sucks but what are we gonna do?
Wish we had a competitive bball program
Also want a baseball program competing and making NCAA tourneys yearly

I actually feel really awful for players like K.T. Harrell.

I honestly feel like we'd have been better off with Lebo.
Posted on 1/15/14 at 8:49 pm to AUtigR24
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but it's not just Barbee. Lebo made the NIT once in his many seasons. ONCE, our program is what Kentucky is to football.

Why can't we just have a Fire Barbee thread sticked? Would say everybody some time
Posted on 1/15/14 at 8:53 pm to AUtigR24
Not Barbee's fault. We need more basketball bagmen.

bullshite. Jake got better by the end of the year and there's no way in hell Barbee stops Murray on the goal line.
Jake totally stopped Murray on the goal line, frick that replay ref.

2003 we made the sweet sixteen and lost to the eventual champion Syracuse on a buzzer beater shot. That team had Carmelo Anthony. I think that's better than anything UK has ever done in football.

Ellis led the Tigers to the 1999 SEC Championship with a 29–4 record, the most wins ever recorded by a Division I team in the state of Alabama. The Tigers reached the Sweet 16 in 1998–99 and in 2002–03 under Ellis. Ellis coached Auburn to the top three single season victory marks in school history, with the 1998–99 season, the 1999–2000 season when Auburn went 24–10, and the 2002–03 season where Auburn went 22–12.[4] Ellis claimed his 500th career Division I coaching victory in a 100–71 win over Georgia State November 26, 2002, to become only the 34th coach to reach the milestone since the NCAA started Division I play in 1948–49.[4] At the end of the 2003–04 season, Ellis resigned from his position at Auburn. He remained in the Auburn community, where his wife Carolyn ran for a state legislature seat in 2006.
Don't tell me it can't be done when its been done before.

Agree with you Niño. No reason why we can't have a competitive basketball program like Ellis had it.
