Both...

Looks like Torrance Gibson may OV to us, which would make pretty good sense IMO...

Just don't see us getting Javon, I wish we could but chances are very slim.

Paul seems to think we get Rankin. Would be a huge get IMO and would help alleviate my concerns for the OL going forward. Had been quietly said for awhile that Rankin was a higher priority to the staff than Danley even when it looked like Danley was who we were actually going to get.

Senior
Clayborn
Calhoun or Desper
Malone
Rankin or Carter

So, basically it's potentially
6th yr - Robinson(hopefully the staff will not allow this)
5th yr - Malone and Rufus
4th yr - Desper, Senior, Carter, Johnson
3rd yr - Thomas, Flowers, Clayborn, Rankin
2nd yr - Jenkins, Calhoun, Cochran

Seems we've got enough quality depth rolling here now to not really take a huge step back going forward. Famous last words though...

Ranking just named us his leader last week but I can't see him coming to Ole Miss. State makes much more sense for a JUCO O-lineman. All of our 2 deep will be back.

I didn't... He's in there. He's not bumping Malone or Clayborn at OG IMO... Maybe if we have to bump Malone out to OT...

Is Daron Payne actually going to happen? There is just no way we steal a 5 star out of the state of Alabama... Right?

If we got Daron Payne, I'd expect the bowl ban to follow shortly thereafter. REC be planting evidence if there actually was none.

Apparently AL already has TD Moton (previous MSU commit) and is only taking one more DT among 3 or 4 candidates so they aren't exactly putting the full court press on Payne. I still look for him to go to AL but we certainly have made an impression on him.

Forgot to post this after it happened this weekend:

I was at home this weekend and ran into Keith Joseph Sr. at Ed's Drive In.

That dude looks like he could still play ball today. Anyway, I digress, after talking to him for 10-15 minutes, he asked me if I knew who Leo Lewis was.

Long story short, he is convinced Leo is coming to State. He said at the A&M game, Leo was there and he asked him what he was doing in Starkville because he was supposed to be in Oxford at the Alabama game. Leo proceeded to tell him that he's not going to Ole Miss and that he is Quote "playing them for the show".

He said Leo has told him multiple times he wants to play with Farrod in college and will eventually come to State.

All of it could be bullshite, you know how those guys talk, but there were several things he quoted Leo saying that really seemed like good news for us.

Yeah that isn't the first time I've read he was telling people that he is going to play for state. We will know in a few months but there is definitely a lot of smoke.

Did you show him a photo of Bundy and tell him that his life hinges on his commitment?

No.

I guess that probably could have been motivation to talk to Leo even more though. Golden opportunity missed.

2 more predictions for Rankin today... Jucos are never a done deal, but it's looking pretty good right now...
