Dennis Dodd doing more work. I think he just hates the SEC: LINK

quote:

The fact there is "baggage" in the background of Vanderbilt's talented, affable, accomplished coach is enough. All you need to know is that Franklin was Vanderbilt's coach last June 23 when police say four of his players raped an unconscious 21-year-old student in a dorm room. DOYEL ON FRANKLIN Right move for Penn State Each was charged with five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. They all were subsequently kicked off the team. They later pleaded not guilty. A fifth player pleaded guilty to attempting to cover up the assault. Franklin has not been tied to the case, at all. But he was the coach when it happened and that should be enough -- especially at Penn State.

So this guy is saying a coach from another school "turned the other way" when bad shite was going on and Penn St in the same article? Oh the irony.

Dafuq? If he had tried to cover it up or something, you may have a point.

He's mad that they couldn't pull and even bigger name...but shite, if Franklin could do what he did at Vandy, imagine what he could do at a historic program like Penn St. Once they get off their child rape probation, he may build them back up to a competitive program.

Besides how hypocritical would it be for Ped State to look down upon a Coach's baggage.

"Bigger Name"?.....The PSU program is a cultural pariah. They are fortunate to get Franklin and hope he talked with the ex-coach before he took the job.

He had players on his team allegedly rape someone, and he swiftly cut ties with those players.

Penn State had a coach rape little boys, and it was likely swept under the rug by people in power.

How is hiring Franklin a bad PR move? If anything he has proven he won't take any crap.
