It was a 10-year deal that the Cowboys let us put on hiatus for 2 years while we sorted out our new schedule.

A&M wanted a home and home. Arky wanted it in Dallas. We agreed to give them the Dallas thing for ten years or so as long as they wouldn't make a fuss when A&M/LSU moved to the final weekend.

At least that's how I understand it.

Arky needs to get the hell out of Little Rock... they're really limiting their games at RRS.

Its cut to one game per year starting this year.

And I agree.

So if A&M/Ark goes to the SEC Championship, and wins the National championship, they'll be essentially playing in 4 bowl games. I hate the direction CFB is going

Split stadium is cool. Ticket prices are insane.

Sounds legit (at least how I understand it too)

But it's like the problem with the first atomic problem. Half of the payload is insufficient to reach critical mass, as is the other half. Put them together at just the right time...kablaam! Together, Arkansas and us (er...we?...hell, I don't know) are relevant!

They initially signed a 10 year deal and played 3 of those games. Because of the scheduling difficulties that A&M encountered when making the SEC move, A&M need to play the 2012 game at Kyle Field just to have six home games that year. Jerry and Arkansas agreed to a 2 year hiatus, but four additional years were tacked on to the original agreement (it's possible that this was done, in part, to alleviate Arkansas's feelings over the final weekend scheduling issues, but it may also just have been to placate Jerry, who knows).

Most Aggie fans hate playing home games away from Kyle Field, and are really hoping that this arrangement does not get extended beyond the current contract, if it even makes it that far. Even though I live 2 hours NW of DFW (and 4.5 hours NW of BCS), I'd rather go to Fayetteville every other year than to put money in Jerry's pocket every year.

Winner.
I'm a Houstonian, and I feel the exact way about games at Reliant.
Keep reg season college football games at the respective schools.

I'll probably still go. I haven't missed one yet.

They schedule the biker rally here for that weekend, and I sure as hell am not staying in town for that again.

fricking hate this. College regular season games should be played on college campuses.

Thanks, Bill Byrne. The ghost of your shittyness haunts us for 11 more years.
