Take Magnesium. Everybody is deficient.

Get some that is not combined with calcium and zinc. Calcium makes muscles contract. Magnesium makes them relax. Everybody gets enough calcium.

Magnesium glycinate or liquid ionic magnesium.

You'll sleep better, too.

Cover a paper bowl with frying oil in it with aluminum foil and heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds

I feel ya. I've battled back problems for nearly 10 years now. Had surgery last year, and while better it still gives me fits from time to time.

Different strokes I guess.

I'd say the dude can afford a $50 visit. I'm not saying go every week, but a visit or two would get rid of the "uneven" feeling he has and give him some relief.

I've been to chiropractors and wouldn't recommend. They do give some short term relief, but they don't really treat the underlying issue. At least in my experience.

Best thing you can do is once you're feeling better get on an exercise regimen that focuses on your core.

I'm not opposed to chiropractor just never been to one. To me that and having skeletal issue already worries me.

That's what I was getting at for the short term. I've had spasms/pinched nerves and at that point it is hard to get relief. A chiropractor can get you relief after a couple of visits along with regular stretching/heat/ice. I don't recommend it long term and agree that strengthening the core/stretching hamstrings etc. helps more than anything.

Take a tennis ball, place it on the spot, roll on top of the ball. Will hurt like hell but it will get the spasm to loosen up. Heat is better for a spasm. Take an anti-inflammatory

Go to a massage therapist instead of a chiropractor. Neither can deal with the underlying cause but the masseur or masseuse will do a much better job of relieving your spasms.

Sounds like you need to see an orthopedist for your skeletal problem.

The worst thing right now is the spasms are intermittent and random, ugh. Mama told me I don't have to walk dog but may have diaper duty.

Ibuprofen, hot bath, stretching. That's what I always used to do when I lifted and played sports and got them.

Ibuprofin, and a hot epsom salt (for magnesium) bath. Make sure you stretch a lot, too.

I have back issues myself, I get strains rather easily since the first. I also take flexaril when it gets real bad.
