I know he hasn't shot down the questions about him interviewing for other jobs - we haven't had any "pine box" kind of comments. Anyone think he is absolutely committed to Vandy and he's just using all the publicity for when last push recruiting begins happening in the coming weeks?

Franklin has proven that Vandy can be a contender. If I were him I don't think I would be looking for opportunities to leave.

I think he is all Vandy. It gets Vandy on the news when he doesn't shoot down these rumors and shite

I'd like to think Franklin is planning on staying. Using the rumors for publicity sounds like a Franklin move. Honestly, I get the vibe he is committed, if only as a way of proving his and Vandy's doubters wrong. However, it's still almost unfathomable a Vanderbilt coach would turn down an elite position.

I really hope he stays. I have always liked Vandy. I had a good time with a bunch of Vandy folks years ago when I was up there working. Plus I like it when y'all are good it is fun to watch all the rustled jimmies

I almost think he is doing it for the publicity.

He know how to work these things.

It would also be applicable to why he's on todays championship coverage.

This. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go this offseason.

It is quite fun to have ammo to rustle jimmies with instead of being tools for others to go "HAHAHA YOU LOST TO VANDERBILT".

Probably just wishful thinking, but David William's comment is making me wonder if he is gone or not. I'll be surprised if he is not, but pleasantly so.

Rumors just make for a bigger check when when doing a new contract deal. I am willing to bet Saban's agent sent a nice gift basket to the Belmont folks.

This boat we're sharing is not a fun one. The only nice part is that I believe in our anchor David Williams to help us weather this storm. He has proven himself to be a great talent evaluator. He had Charlie Strong pegged before the Bobby Johnson hire and had the last search down to Gus and James. He'll get a good coach...but it's always nicer to the have the coach you know is great and not hoping you hire a great one.
