Does the SEC's recent Sugar Bowl suckage mean anything?

The SEC is now 1-4 in it's last 5 Sugar Bowl appearances.
That seems quite odd considering that the SEC has been unbeatable in the BCS title game, usually in a dominating fashion.
Is it just a string of bad games that don't have any other meaning? Or is there an actual cause/effect thing going on?

Some teams choose not to show up to BCS bowls. And their fans somehow think it's a good thing.

How many of those had the actual SEC runner-up?

Nope, you're not going to use transitive property as an excuse for Bama's primetime choke
Nice try though

Yeah: UGA should have played for the Sugar last year instead of UF.

Runner up?
More times than not, the SEC runner up isn't in a BCS game.

The SEC chamipion hasn't been since what, 05? That used to be why teams wanted to win the SEC, to make it to the Sugar Bowl. Same as the Rose Bowl. Now, its almost a consolation prize for some teams whose seasons didn't go the way they wanted.

The SEC is fine. Same could be said about the B1G troubles in the Rose Bowl. 3 times the Buckeyes were in the NC game leaving the #2 to play in against the PAC 12 champ and last year the Buckeyes or Nittany Lions werent eligible, sending the #3 to play against the PAC 12 champ. So 4 times the B1G wasnt rightly represented. Sometimes the records arent what they always seem to be in these bowl games. Teams are moved up and down all the time.
