Who's with me?

We're about to pull in one of the greatest offensive line classes in recruiting history. The whole team was ill prepared. Calm down.

I think if we use Henry next year as the power back, we will be fine

You are alone. This was a matter of out receivers not getting open and our QB holding onto the ball as much as an OL issue.
This was not and never was going to be a dominant OL. I would love to see 3 or 4 new starters next year, but the 3 or 4 were not on campus or not ready yet. This should be our last patchwork OL for a good while.

Receivers weren't open because we have simple plays. Every unit played badly but it all stems from being simple to defend. We've gotten away with it because we have more talent than everyone else. We have a simple minded offensive coordinator with no imagination in designing or calling plays.

The Oline was an abortion on pass protection and the "team wasn't prepared"? Total bullshite.
If you want excuses they are easy to find.

This. AJ looked like McElroy in 2010. Padding stats and holding onto the ball forever.

We'll take him off your hands

If A.J. had left last year this would have been an honest to god rebuilding year with a new QB and lowered exceptions, a Sugar Bowl berth would have been welcomed with enthusiasm. Plus said QB would be starting next year with year's experience under his belt.

Maybe you should stick with being Buckeyebuckeye?
Cristobal did wonders with this years OL. Pendry absolutely stopped recruiting his last few cycles. Stoutland not recruiting at all once Miami surfaced didn't help matters either. Obviously there were guys like Cyko who were obvious takes but yeah OL depth is suffering.
We replaced two first rounders and the one of the most individually decorated offensive lineman in all of college football history. And despite that this OL played well. Hell we had a "power run game" despite not having a power back at all until Henry emerged. I love Yeldon and Drake but they are both all purpose backs. And Fowler isn't the same since his injury (he is one of those that is at the weight that if they don't hit rehab hard they lose all their ability because of an injury).

Receivers didn't get open. AJ held the ball too long. AJ threw two god-awful ugly picks when he wasn't even under pressure. And Cyrus got his arse handed to him on multiple occasions.

Some one yelled out "A.J. are you trying to make us not miss you!?!"

I know he fumbles but I would have loved for Drake to get at least 5 of TJ's carries.

Cristobal has been one of the best hires Saban has made while at Bama.
But look at our evals of the 2011, 2012, and even 2013 recruiting classes when it comes to OL. Even the 2010 class when Pendry was still around was really weak on the OL.
Cristobal is a definite upgrade as an OL coach/recruiter/evaluation guy. While we do recruit by regions, who we recruit IE our Big Board and the order we go after guys is done by the position coaches. IE Nuss selects the QBs he wants to pursue in what order, same thing with OL.
But he is the only position coach whose name is listed with every recruit at his position (except for Nuss with QBs). And we all know how serious Nuss is when it comes to selecting our QB, I am so glad to see an OL coach who comes in and works just as hard/as much for selecting his OL guys.
Pendry wasn't interested in recruiting toward the end and Stoutland was just bad at evaluating talent.
Look at the guys those two guys pulled in the 10, 11, 12, and 13 classes. And all of these classes expect 10 were Number 1 classes so the weak spot in each is the OL.
2010
Austin Shepherd - 3 Star. Up and down career
Chad Lindsey - 3 Star. Played well
Arie Kouandjio - 4 Star. Played well when finally healthy
2011
Aaron Douglas - 4 star. Sadly died soon after signing with us
Ryan Kelly - 3 star. Big drop off from Vlachos and Barrett.
Issac Luatua - 3 star. No impact
Cyrus Kouandjio - 5 star. Despite his brother connection almost was Auburn's left tackle the past few years.
2012
Brandon Greene - 4 Star. Now a blocking TE
Brandon Hill - 3 Star. No impact so far.
Caleb Gulledge - 3 Star. Plays at JSU now
2013
Leon Brown - 3 Star. Played well tonight. First real playing time
Brandon Hill - 3 Star. Resign out of prep school
Grant Hill - 4 Star. Local kid that started as a sleeper and then exploded. Has a great future ahead
Not counting Mazza. Been a surprisingly good LS but not an OL.
So Stoutland and Pendry really recruited a whole bunch of nothing the last 4 cycles despite those classes being Top ranked classes for the most part.
So Cristobal not only has had to sack up and coach a whole lot of nothing but he has been doing an A plus job finding, eval'ing, and landing 2014 guys for the OL.
Football is won and lost in the trenches. Stoutland let us slip dangerously on the OL.

With how fast the Sooners defensive line was, we needed to run more screens and 3 step drop pass plays.

Why is everyone coming at the O? The defense by far cost this..didnt we nearly give up 10 third downs.
Miss the times when scoring 30 was more than enough to beat teams

Oklahoma scored 28 off of Alabama's turnovers.
21 came against the defense.
How many defenses, especially ones that aren't great or elite, can handle being put on their heels right after getting off the field?
