We lose on average 2 a year. Any guess who Bama might lose after the game or after recruiting season. I don't see any making lateral moves but some may get promoted like the DC at FSU.

Greg Brown/Chris Rumph.

Greg Brown seems to be the only guy on staff not recruiting well, and despite its youth the secondary looked worse at times than 2007 or 2010. Youth can be a reason for playing bad, but at times even the relative veterans were having mental breakdowns on the back end. That is a lack of preparation from Brown.

And while Chris Rumph has been doing a good job on the trail, he hasn't wowed with some of his commits like we expected him to. How much of his recruiting is simply being Recruiter 7 for Nick Saban? And our DL hasn't looked impressive at all under Rumph. From now going forward no one can say we don't have talent there either. We are stockpiling some sick DL talent.

Plus with all the coaching turnover, I could see it filtering into Nuss getting a head coaching job somewhere. Its weird to think he may be a HC before Kirby. After all we have been thinking since at least 2009 that each year would be our last with Kirby. Either he doesn't interview well, or he and Saban have some type of deal worked out in private (to avoid the public embarrassment of Head coaches in waiting). I think it is closer to the 2nd option. Especially if you consider the context and apparent ill will Sunseri and Pruitt left in for both being somewhat lateral positions.

That said, if we lost all three (Rumph, Brown, Nuss) then the three obvious candidates are Sunseri, Pruitt, and Kiffin. Of course Marty Schottenheimer and Mike Bloomgren would be OC candidates we would interview as well.

With their family situations, I can't see Sunseri or Pruitt (especially Pruitt) following Jimbo to Austin or an NFL job (unless the NFL job was local as well)

I don't think it's so weird...Kirby Smart would never leave Alabama to become the head coach at a Colorado State, for example. Smart isn't going just anywhere to get a HC gig. Nuss might very well do that. Besides, ever since hearing of a conversation involving PBjr a couple of years ago...and until it doesn't happen...I'm convinced that Saban will be the next AD and Smart will be the HC. Battle's hiring only convinced me even more of that. At the very least, Saban will have to say no. If you're Kirby Smart, that's the best possible situation for you to be set up to be successful, IMO.

i know my opinion dont count. but ive thought for some time now, that theres an unspoken deal wih kirby. after seeing the way the ncaa reacted to muschamp being hciw at texas, and binding him to the same recruiting rules as a hc. i dont think we'll hear of any hciw, done deals, at bama.

i like kirby, but i do wish he'd go get his feet wet as a hc. then come back. go thru the learning curve somewhere else.

Hence why I said its probably closer to the 2nd option.

I'm not meaning to nitpick but, if I recall correctly, Sunseri & Pruitt both left for defensive coordinator positions (at UT & FSU)...I'd consider those as definite job upgrades as opposed to somewhat lateral positions...

I agree with you concerning Sunseri & Kiffin...but not so much with Pruitt as that would be a demotion...I think Pruitt only comes back as a defensive coordinator (when Smart either leaves or becomes head coach)...
