Their schedule is a lot more forgiving in 2014.

Home games in BOLD

Southern Miss
UAB
South Alabama
LSU
Texas A&M
Auburn
Kentucky
Arkansas
UT Martin
Alabama
Vanderbilt
Ole Miss

I see at least 7 wins with Ole Miss, Auburn, and Texas A&M being toss ups.

State will beat A&M next year.

The Dogs should go at least 8-4 and hopefully can pick up a ninth win from Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn, or Alabama. Unfortunately, 3 of those 4 games will be away.

Undefeated wouldnt be too far of a stretch. We do have the best returning quarterback and possible Hiesman trophy winner in Dak Prescott.

I don't think a loss to Texas A&M or Auburn are for sure things since Mississippi State has them at home.

I think 8 wins is very realistic, and likely....they have a lot coming back, and with improved QB play, they could be rather stubborn

MSU is a very cyclical football team. I believe 18 starters return in 2014 and this will be the year that MSU competes for the SEC West Division title. Being an Alabama alumni, I always root for the Tide, but feel we may have a down year in 2014. Had Prescott been healthy when we played them, we would have lost that game. We got our butts kicked this year against MSU and were lucky to win the game. I predict 9-3 or 10-2!

Just looking at the depth chart for the bowl game , MSU only lists 5 SRs on the 2 deep , 4 off. and only 1 on a defense that has 13 take aways over the last 3 games.

they have a chance at a very strong season next year.

I think 2015 is the year. With electricity arriving soon and the railroad on the way, MSU is primed for an upward trend.
