The Case for Alabama:
2009 - The hand of fate (Cody vs. UT)
2009 - The drive at Auburn
2009 - McCoy goes down
2009 - Gilbert fumbles to stop the comeback
2011 - Iowa fricking State
2012 - Bears and Trees
2012 - The Screen in Baton Rouge
2012 - The Tip/Richt's Brain Fart

The Case for Auburn:
2010 - Clemson in OT
2010 - IB: Fumble stays inbounds
2010 - Dyer stays up
2013 - The Drive against State
2013 - The horse collar that wasn't
2013 - The Prayer at Jordan Hare
2013 - Kick Bama Kick
2013 - This is Sparta!

Hard to call this one. I call it a draw. Auburn has had crazier lucky in-game moments but Bama has had more back doors opened up for them.

What say the Rant?

PS - If you have other lucky moments during these seasons feel free to add.

Auburn has had more luck on their own, Bama has had more luck benefiting from luck other teams created for themselves

it really is unbelievable the good fortune both teams have had during this run. It`s like the red sea parts every year for one of the Alabama teams.

Alabama getting a do-over after losing their division trumps every "miracle" Auburn has ever had and it's not even close.

That was the luckiest shite you will ever see in sports.

I'm thinking Auburn by a hair. Rarely though has a national champion not had shite tons of luck. FSU will be one though if they win. Not much luck involved in their run.

Getting to play in the BCSNC game without even winning their 6 team division. There's isn't even a close 2nd.

Going by the list 2013 Auburn was luckier than any previous team ever..... and you know IF they win in the coming weeks it WILL be on a fluke play.

THE luckiest Bama team was the one that got the rematch in the National Championship game after losing to LSU at HOME.

Lose at home and you should be out of it... PERIOD.

No one should have to beat any team twice in college football. Bama had their chance, at home, and couldn't get it done. Bama should have been on the outside looking in. Same thing happened with Florida and FSU many years ago. Florida got a rematch with FSU and won a National Championship.

It's still luck regardless of the way it happens.

If memory serves, 1996 Florida won a national title the same way, losing a regular season game to FSU they should have won and then humiliating them in the championship.

Fans of teams that haven't had a national championship berth recently (or ever) don't realize that to get to the championship, luck is typically an integral part to the season. Especially in the SEC. And yes, Auburn has had a fantastic amount of it this season. That's fine with me.

2003-2007 LSU was much luckier than both of those teams. The amount of luck that they needed to get into the national championship games in 2003 and 2007 was staggering.

Let me rephrase..2011 Alabama wasn't lucky, it just relied on HC politicking to get into the BCSNCG, which is worse than a little luck, IMO.
