The knock on Marshall had been the fact he missed the Spring practice. Does the extended bowl practice get him caught up? Do you expect to see better passing out of him in the bowl game?

Just hope doesn't get too cute like he tends to do.

Possibly. With everyone keying on the run, I would love to see some of those play action dive passes that Cam ran, where he would duck down and look like he was running.

One game will not be enough to determine if the 12 days of bowl practice did anything.

gus is the one I worry about getting too cute... the man is about to have a lot of time on his hands to draw up plays...

I wouldn't mind if he got cute like some of the plays in the Chik-Fil-A bowl against Virginia. That seemed like one of the few games that Chizik just let Gus loose with the play calling and it was exciting.

I think more practice can always help.

In all fairness though he did complete 74% his last two games, and 66% in his last three. However, I do think he can improve and should over the next month.

The flow of the game will dictate how much passing we see.

Lugenbill said the layoff would hurt FSU. Then Kannell just said it'd hurt Auburn.

You must remember Kannell is a FSU alum.

Do you guys think that Gus was trying to set something up with all of those backfield passes to Coates during the last game? Or do you think he was just hoping that Coates would be able to beat someone? Was that the same play that Coates got the long run on earlier in the game and the one he scored on with A&M?

Be prepared for a month of Kannell crap.

I don't care what anyone says. Nick Marshall has it in him to be a good passer. That first TD to Coates was a thing of beauty.. But when you don't pass a lot, it will not be comfortable.

I don't think Gus changes a lot. He has been fairly consistent all year. I think he may add a wrinkle or two but until the Noles prove they can do what nobody else has done and stop our run, we will run north and south.

With an occasional east west vibe.

I think you can make a case for it helping both teams... AU is hot right now and healthy (relatively), so taking 30 days off is going to suck. Remember how awesome we looked in the 2010 SECCG?... then we never got in offensive rythm against Oregon, even though their defense wasn't as good up front as USCe.

But, with that said, getting Marshall more reps should really help him... and both teams are in their first year of a new defensive scheme, but it's pretty clear with have the most room to improve on defense.

I like the matchup of Gus vs. Pruitt. I also like the fact that Gus remembers 2010 and has a plan in place. Jimbo has been to BCSNCG games as a OC as well (and BCS bowl as HC).

Also, the the Heisman hype and distraction could affect Winston... we'll see.

I think the rest and ability to heal will be what helps both teams most. I think the fact we run more that getting into rhythm won't be as difficult as it was in 2010.

I don't think this will be a low scoring game like 2010 either.

late in the 2nd half, right?... we made mistakes and turnovers in the 1st half we hadn't done all year (so did oregon).

And I disagree, Rocky... I think this game has the potential to be lower than the vegas total (65 points)... FSU leads the nation in scoring defense and Auburn is inside the top 40. Odds are good both teams play tight early, especially when you consider both QBs are first year starters on the biggest stage imaginable.
