I rewatched the Iron Bowl last night and the officials called false start on a 29 yard Alabama FG attempt that happened to go through the uprights.

Foster would go on to shank the 33 yard attempt but the announcers and myself couldn't see any movement on the line to draw the penalty.

Did anyone else see this? Was it the right call?

I thought it was a bad call. I don't think CbS ever even showed a replay. Very bizarre

He flinched. It was slight, but it was the right call.

Bro, do you even math?

29 + 5 = 33?

The OL did this :

Whether that counts as a false start, I have no idea.

Solid cast.

I wonder if Spain is still looking for who blew up the USS Maine?

They did and Gary ended up agreeing with the call. The ref just happened to be looking right at Arie when he made his movement however slight it was.

I thought it was a bad call. But Au didn't get a block in the back call during a Bama return. There was some bad officiating throughout the game, so it was a wash.

Technically breathing hard enough to move your chest wall violates the rules.

If we are going to call that "false start" then the Auburn and Bama offense will have holding fouls almost every play.
